i dont plan on joining another religion. i feel weird just even stepping foot in a church as i did for a wedding

I can understand your hesitancy, but UU's (this group, anyway) couldn't be further from wts. Individuals really practice their beliefs; there's a large pagan contingency who offer seasonal rituals to the whole congregation; Buddhist meditations at various times, etc. Believe me, I wasn't going to get hooked into another group that demanded my loyalty. You don't get "called on" if you miss, but if you're sick, you can call and ask for help; help comes quite willingly. It was a good group when I was newly single and had younger kids. I don't go as often any longer, and that's fine.
