Saltopus (meaning 'leaping foot').
Saltopus is, from what I remember, a genus of small, primitive theropod dinosaur whose fossils have been found in late Triassic rock in Scotland. I first learnt a bit about Saltopus when I was 13 or 14.
Years later, when I was a mature student (age 30) at college, I was learning about animal behaviour and doing research into setting up an experiment when I came across the behavioural category saltate. My mind instantly remembered Saltopus (leaping foot) so I knew it just had to mean jumping or leaping. How cool is that?!
I guess being a geek paid off for me there.
