For the Publix model to work, they must make a profit. It's still capitalism.
It isn't all black and white. There are shades of gray and even different colors.

I think Perry is just swallowing the ignorance and misinformation by right wing evangelicals that socialism is in kind to communism.
Read his posts and you'll see what I'm mean..
Perry is not individual thinking intellectual, he just reads whats on Christian based web sites and pastes the information he finds on them.
Again socialism is a political concept of cooperative sharing which can function well within a capitalistic economy.
One could correctly say the reason the US slid down on its education and health levels standards within the general population is due to its apathetically driven and structured capitalistic system.
Its ironic that so called devout Christians like Perry express disdain and repulsion for looking out for others on a community social ideological stance, in place of aggressive capitalistic values .
Where's your Christian moral values Perry did you lose them when you walked out your church one day ?
Your not emulating and exemplifying the social moral values of your god of worship Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ was surely a socialist as well a humanist at heart.

Just a gentle correction. There is no such thing as "Christian" any more than there's such a thing as "American". There are different types of Christians and it is an injustice to lump liberal Christians with conservative Christians. Perry is a Fundamentalist/Conservative Christian whom have large differences with Liberal Christians.
Conservative Christians despise liberal Christians and refer to them as "not the right kind of Christian". They consider themselves to be the only kind of true Christian (Sound familiar?). Calling conservatives "Christians" without the modifier plays into their self-righteous game.
coalize2 hours agoThe difference between socialism and capitalism is not the profit itself, but the way it's shared!

VI: No true Scotsman?
That does apply to conservative Christians.
From my point of view I see them as somebody who keeps saying that he likes the rainbow when in fact he only likes one color and hates the others.
I'll jump in here. Socialism doesn't work because 95 percent of the working population are lazy dogf%#kers.
Yes that is right. That is why the Soviet Union couldn't feed themselves. The farmers had no incentive to produce. Capitalism isn't perfect but it does give an incentive. Produce or go hungry and live on the street.
