I view Amazon as a medium, similar to the phone company. I don't believe they are any more morally culpable for any influence this book may have than the phone company is for having internet porn sites carried over their lines.
I can't believe Amazon.com is selling this trash.

Amazon's "charter" is to make money...period....so the question is...why carry this nonsense if they're not making money off of it? Censorship? Not carrying a book because it's morally objectionable is NOT censorship...preventing that book from being published is censorship...but not carrying it isn't stopping the author. This could be carried more directly to it's intended audience by being carried on the NAMBLA web-site or one of the NAMBLA publications.
Do ya know why AMAZON doesn't carry the Anachrist Cookbook? Because of the harm that can come about when unstable people read the book and put it's principles into action. A book that encourages a pedophile to feel normal...well, it's putting kids at risk...Hey REM...do you have kids? Why not make sure all your kid's teachers read this book. Better yet...let's stick it in the public library...which has more of a stake in the "censorship" arena than does Amazon.

Can I point out to you guys that not all forms of Pedophilia are bad or wrong, let me explain. Pedophilia is determined by the age of consent, if the boy/girl is under the age of consent and the adult is a certain age over the age of consent it is considered Pedophilia. There in lies the problem. Here in Australia the age of consent was 21 until just recently (It has now been adjusted to hetrosexual age of consent, (16) Yes that's right .. in most countries our age of consent is completely different to yours.) So by that law if I was 19 or 20 and I slept with someone of the ages of 22 or 23 up it would have been seen as Pedophilia. That in itself is rediculous, rediculous to the fact that the older party could be sent to jail for consential sex.
There needs to be put in place ONE age of consent, and anyone breaking that law is liable. The reason so many people get their nickers in a knot is because they lack the information on the issue. People say Pedophilia and imediately think of an old man forcing sex onto a 6 year old when that simple isn't always the case. If we change the legal system to work properly we can save alot time. REAL Pedophiles will be able to be convicted to the full extent of the law and people in my position will be left alone.

PS Why is the concept of a woman taking advantage of a young school boy (around 12-14) ok when it clearly wouldn't be ok for a man to take advantage of a girl or boy of the same age ? I can smell a huge double standard .. a standard that has been put in place by men. Everyone start to take notice to shows on tv as far as this is concerned, I was shocked that it actually is seen as quite comical and acceptable for a woman to take advantage of a younger boy.

The Communist Manifesto, which I own and have read...is an economic/political thesis, not a manual that glorifies molesting children...BIG Difference. While communism as proclaimed in the CM is a failed economic theory, it is not by it's very nature evil. In fact, it would be difficult to find a work on communism that tried to justify the abuses we've seen in Russia, Cuba, China, etc.
I take it from your comments then, that you approve of the sale of a book that promotes pedophilia?
I don't dispute Amazon's "right" to carry this book...why dispute my "right" to boycott them. Like I said...will my not doing business with them hurt their bottom line? No, but principle is prinicple.

You need to watch the news more, there was a teacher put in prison for gettin it on with a youg boy. And who told you it was ok for a woman to get it on with a 12-14 year old boy.... they need to have thier heads checked.

Maybe not Yerusalyim but I am certainly aware of the idea within alot of men as well as tv sitcoms.
Pedophilia is a word used to describe any person above the age of consent having sexual relations with anyone under that age of consent. Lets not mess around with other words.

The law is the law, I was talking about ideas that are suggested within television and reading material, it's all clearly out there in primetime. Either way it's wrong .. you are either the age for consensial sex or your not. Male or Female, One Age, One Law.

Personally... I like the age of 18. I recently read about a lawyer trying to say that 14 year old kids have a right to privacy which includes privacy to engage in sex...in the girl's mother's bed no less. WHAT BS.
Anyhow...if I at age 19 were to have hit a 16 year old in the face....it would have been very different from my hitting another 19 year old. Or if at 16 I'd hit a 16 year old...it would be different. The same should apply to sex.
