Do you have examples of hymns you will never hear in Kingdom Halls in any country.

Here are a few of my favorites:

I would have sworn Battle Hymn of the Republic would never come out of the KH speaker system... and it did. I was not the only surprised person. I daresay there were more than a few scandalized people (including my JW family). Never say never.

Yes, one of the most spiritual hymns of the church.

LOL...I agree, the cart song sure doesn't inspire me either. I wonder how much joy there can possibly be in Kingdom Hall worship.

Had a heart stopping moment in the middle of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Thought I saw Tony Morris! But on second look, this guy looked a little slimmer.

I am not a believer in the slightest, but there is something moving about hearing traditional Christmas hymns in big old churches. They were really designed for good acoustics. Sometimes I go with my MIL for Christmas Eve service and I get goosebumps hearing Silent Night. I even sing along.

I agree Christmas carols like Silent Might can be moving. My favorite Carol of all time is O Holy Night; one I'm sure wouldn't be heard in any Kingdom Hall.

    Here's one rendition I appreciate.

Beautiful. I love the way the music plays up and down the scale and then builds to an ecstatic high note. It's a classic for good reason. It's an excellent and moving piece of music.

Woulda never thought that I'd hear Beth Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" in the KH. But that's exactly what happened one Sunday when one of our (influential) elders had it played in its entirety during his public talk. I don't recall the point he was trying to make, but it sure was fun watching people who walking in late hear it and wonder WTF was going on.

But if I were to choose a hymn to be played, it would have to be that classic spiritual from down under: AC/DC's "Hell's Bells".
