Are You Afraid of Another Terrorist Attack This Month?

I am somewhat concerned. I think it would be too predictable for anyone to do this on 9-11, we are too geared up for it. But i really do expect it to happen again. For all our resources, we have very poor security . and ther are just so many ways to attack, who could be prepared for them all.?

I'm not as worried now as when it first happenned.
The U.S. homeland security will be on high alert. and will have fighter jets up in the air through that week..
I'm more concerned that with that big power outage they might be more interested in hitting a major power plant. It affected a wide berth of people.
I have family close to Boston who lost employees in Sept 11. So .. that was hard to take. Our frustration was trying to contact them on that day and make sure they weren't on any of those flights.
As we went to see the Portland Sea Dogs baseball team battle the Connecticut Ravens in Portland, Maine, . security was still a part of the pre game activity. They checked our bags etc, before we could get into the game. I guess the same is true at Fenway in Boston.
At the border, it was different to see customs officers carrying side arms since Sept 11.
I feel okay that the U.S. will have everything covered well.

No reason to live in fear but of course something may happen. Eventually I believe there will be a nuclear weapon exploded in a major city. This is their mission and one of the reasons I'm grateful we have a president that takes action.
May the flames being.

I too believe that eventually there will again be a nuclear explosion in a populated city but I actually think that the current president is making that a more likely scenario. I hope it will never happen but fear that it will sooner or later. That will change the world forever.
That will be a real disaster - I know Spt 11 was a very bad thing but the perspective does seem a little skewed or lost sometimes. For instance, 20 times the number who died on that much publicised and reported event die on America's highways each month. over 10 times the number of children die of starvation and preventable diseases every day etc...

Simon, you might sound like you're minimizing Sept.11. I don't think you are.

No, I'm not afraid of anything happening this month. I'll be travelling to the US around the 11th, so I hope nothing happens. I guess they'll look at me in the eyeballs when I'll cross that boarder. I always did look suspicous.

Besides the fact that I don't think any terrorist is capable of delivering a nuclear bomb here undetected, that's another reason I'm not worried. Even if they could get strong enough bomb and/or enough people concentrated in one place to kill the amount of people who were killed on Sept 11, the chances that I or someone I know will be there are slim. Not to diminish the trauma it would have one any who's loved ones were there. But the scariest thing I occasionally do is get inside a car and drive. Most of the risk/danger I face comes from people who are already here.

No, that's not my intention. I'm sure some will claim I am but I am really just trying to put it in perspective. 2,000 people is a lot to die all at once but 45,000 will have died that Sept on the roads. Where is the outcry and national attention for that? I guess it doesn't stir people the same and is harder for the media to "sell" ... no dramatic footage to show ad nauseum.
Humans have a very irrational response to fear and terrorism takes advantage of it. The world is now full of people terrified about nuclear bombs and such like that they have incredibly remote chances of being involved in but they are in much more danger getting in their car and going to the shops. If they are in a crash they could slip getting out of their car or be involved in a robbery ... oh look, now I'm scaring people!
It wouldn't surprise me if more people had won the lottery than were involved in terrorist incidents ...
