I thought that the generation new light and the sheep and the goats new light would almost FORCE people to stop and think.
I thought so too, but nobody seemed to care in my cong. It seemed I was the only one who noticed. When will all this misery end?

I'm not sure if this could be true. If the FDS have not yet been officially recognized, then that means that there currently is no FDS. This would totally undermine the authority of the WTS.
The only way they could pull this off is if they told the rank and file that even though they are not officially the FDS, they are confident that some day they will be.
Translation: We are not really the FDS, but we believe that some day we will be, so go ahead and treat us like we are until we say we are.
Sadly, I can see them actually convincing the rank and file of this... in fact they will ask them for their support in insuring that the WTS does become the FDS by praying more, going to more meetings and working harder in the misery ministry work. They may even add that if the WTS does not become the FDS, it was because the rank and file did not work hard enough.

I think that if they are going to do this, they will some how have to disconnect the "God's Channel" thing from the F&DS. I have no doubt that can cough up enough smoke and mirrors to pull it off. I was already out when they changed the generation teaching. When I first heard about it I figured that everybody would finally wake up and smell the coffee. Didn't happen.
I lean towards the view that they will change this in time.
The central obsession of the Watchtower is always about control. The Branch Office and other committee types may need
an official explanation justifying their assumed authority - without any special anointed claim.
On the other hand, the current illogic and excuse for doctrine seems to work just fine because Witnesses are too stupid
to ever question any of it - or allow it to cause them to leave. Why change? Who cares?
If they changed this view to a simple logical one ( F&D slave = anybody that's faithful and discreet) , they might
be forced to re-consider Matt 25 as justifying charity and kindness - since the 'brothers' are "strangers" until
after the Great Tribulation. I doubt they desire anything like love or compassion currently - it's just so------- not them!

integ, in my KH there were some people who were angry. I remember one sister coming up to me and saying "then why am I going in service? this is not fair if I am not finding sheep and goats then what reason do I have for doing it?" she was quite upset about her demotion as she saw it. Many were confused and I heard alot of 'wait on Jehovah's Org...' to answer the question, even some specualtion of when the explanation would be forthcoming in what Watchtower issue(everyone figured that the DC was always rehashed and further explained in the Fall after they were all done.)

Just to clarify things a bit...
I thought the teaching was that there was always a F&DS, i.e. down through the centuries, there were always at least a few faithful ones on the earth. It was just that it was not until 1918, or 1919, that there was an inspection, and additional responsibilites were given to the F&DS slave.
So really, all that is changing is that they are saying that this inspection is a future event, which is how it is described in Matthew anyway.
Anyway, as the generation change has proved, they can spin any yarn they want and 99% of todays dubs will swallow it without question. They have had it beat into their heads since 1980 that the Org is not to be questioned, therefore most of the ones left in the Org do not question.

the track record of this organization is excellent in terms of preping its members FOR CHANGE
as a matter fact ask yourself How many district conventions did either you or someone you know speak in terms of LOOKING FORWARD TO NEW LIGHT OR NEW INFORMATION

so for the avg congo of 120 pub any change in teachings is welcomed and looked forward to-

SO the wt has set in motion a continuing desire on the part of it's members to not only expect change but TO LOOK FORWARD TO IT
now will some get pissed off , of course, but out of 120 pub congo how many do you think will leave 5- 10, 20, yea right

FACTS PROOF, EVIDENCE, MEAN NOTHING TO a true believer, hell look at how many folks believe in an invisible god
at least they can see the FDS, WT GB and other bethel heavies
so for all you folks out there who think that this will be the straw that will break the camel you are in for a dissappontment
there will not be any MASS EXODUS out of the hall, will it push some on the fence over , yep will it cause otehrs to stop and rethink what you and i have told them
of course, but to think that 35% will be leaving when their mags come in, don't hold your breath
