i have to agree with many of the other posters who have offered in my view a correct word of caution about NOT TO EXPECT TOO MUCH OF A MASS EXIT ot of wt

the track record of this organization is excellent in terms of preping its members FOR CHANGE

as a matter fact ask yourself How many district conventions did either you or someone you know speak in terms of LOOKING FORWARD TO NEW LIGHT OR NEW INFORMATION

yes that DEEP POINT THEY TALK About in sunday when you are trying to stay awoke-

so for the avg congo of 120 pub any change in teachings is welcomed and looked forward to-

as friends returne they say I would tell you but i wont so that you can hear it yourself-

how many friends have said DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE CONVENTIN I WANT IT MYSELF-

SO the wt has set in motion a continuing desire on the part of it's members to not only expect change but TO LOOK FORWARD TO IT

now will some get pissed off , of course, but out of 120 pub congo how many do you think will leave 5- 10, 20, yea right

as has been stated so many times before we need and must keep in mind as has so well been pointed out

FACTS PROOF, EVIDENCE, MEAN NOTHING TO a true believer, hell look at how many folks believe in an invisible god

at least they can see the FDS, WT GB and other bethel heavies

so for all you folks out there who think that this will be the straw that will break the camel you are in for a dissappontment

there will not be any MASS EXODUS out of the hall, will it push some on the fence over , yep will it cause otehrs to stop and rethink what you and i have told them

of course, but to think that 35% will be leaving when their mags come in, don't hold your breath

an adjustment has been in the works for awhile now and that the new light for the FDS will be that they will receive their appointment before the Great Tribulation and that they didn't receive it at 1918-19 as previously taught.

Interesting. In an attempt to "trap" or coerce those with doubts or to expose trouble-makers, the elders always like to ask the question about accepting or believing if the GB is the modern day FDS. If you answer "No", then off to the JC meetings they go, to DF you and to cover-up the scandal. If this "light" does change, that question will no longer be valid. In fact, shouldn't all those that were DF'd on that basis get a "parole hearing" and have their sentance(DFing) retracted?

Oh, but there has been a mass exodus! It has been going on for years! As recent reports have shown, the WTS looses 32% of it's people... but that is made up with 38% new recruits.

This is a revolving-door religion. That is, in part, why they focus so much on the recruiting preaching work... they have to replace all of the people who are constantly leaving.

The reason earth shattering New Light does not destroy the religion is because so many people in it don't know that the change is so profound. The ones who have been in for decades and decades who do know just how profound the change is have so much invested in the religion that to leave would be more devastating than the new light. The rest, like us, all jump ship... and are promptly replaced by new recruits.

If this change actually came into effect, all their literature, except for the NWT would be no good. They'd have a lot of history to bury. What a mess. Oh well, wouldn't be the first time.

As I have pointed out elsewhere, this is just another example of the Pharisees - then and now - making allegories out of The Master's parables and getting in deep, deep kaka for doing so. Mankind, isn't there anything good they can't fuck up? And The Master's message and directions are so simple and loving.

Exactly. Like the "generation" change. The generation that saw 1914 will not die off before Armageddon. That changed. That affects all their literature and teachings from 1995 on. Everything before that is obsolete. That's a lot of history. But the vast majority of the JWs blindly accepted it.

But it will still wake some up. Maybe not a mass exodus, but some will be affected the way some were affected by the "generation" change. And for others, it might be the final push needed to wake them up and do some research. If it happened, it would just be more proof to show such ones that this religion is bogus.

while i agree with you % wise but in US actually seeing 33% of our old hall leave DUE TO DOGMAS

    that will not happen-

beside the vast majority of that 32% DID NOT LEAVE DUE TO NEW LIGHT most in my exp become inactive due to just being plain old wore out and tired YET they still beleive this is the truth

and that is my only point- for most of us we often think that those who make up that 32% that you pointed out would be MOST WILLING to listen, yet what do one actually find

those who are Dfed , inactive , living a double life are often time the first one to turn out behind end

the shock of finding that the very ones we thought would listen --most times DON'T

so those who make up that 32% are still wt staff members-

even in 1975 many left i remember as a kid yet it was no mass exodus due TO DOGMA -

we had 2 families who left for that reason-

the facts on RELIGION shows over and over that for believers there is very little that their religion can do that will cause them to leave

look at the catholic church - one using critical thinking would quickly dismiss the catholic faith as a joke - to have FULL KNOWLEDGE OF IT'S PAST AND PRESENT and yet remain

in the old days it killed and burned folks - the church still grew, in modern times, it hides molesters-

think about this - the pope called a meeting ONLY OF THE USA CARDINAL

one would have thought with such a stain of an issue he would have had EVERY SINGLE CARDINAL AND BISHOP on the next plan to rome to find out and clean house

cardinal Lay didn't lose his job it wasn't till so much noise was made they got embarrassed he should have been put back on a plan wearing BLUE JEANS instead he came back to the usa with his little FUNKY HAT IN TOW

SO WT is no differnet than any other faith with stuff in it';s closet ONLY HONEST hearted folks like you and i who firmly belive in calling a spade a spade and letting the chips fall where they may will every leave HIGH CONTROL GROUPS

It's not "Cardinal Lay", JT. It's Cardinal Law.

All they're doin in essence in trying to compensate for all the GB members dying off and the end still not being here. They need to come up with a valid reason for non-anointed ppl running the org at the highest levels. According to thier theology this would be the first time in the history of Chritianity that something like this has happened.
