Well I have been thinking about this and was wondering if anyone was interested in contributing some holiday recipes for a Special Edition of FOOD IN DUE SEASON - The JWD Holiday Cookbook

Some of us have been out for a while and have begun to establish special holiday traditions. For some this whole idea of celebrating holidays is rather new. It might be nice for some of us to share our new found traditions with those who are just starting out and with each other.

If you think it would be interesting that along with the recipes we could include some of the traditions you have begun to establish in your home. This does sound interesting.

Thanksgiving is coming up. Then xmas. And New Year's. Even if you don't have a recipe we could still include some of your traditions - decorating, guests, special things you do

So what do you think? At this point don't post your traditions or recipes here. I am just looking for ideas.

    Edited to add

For those who are new here the sometimes seen banner at the top of the page Food at the proper time is an e-book of recipes contributed by the members of the board. All contributors agreed that all money from the cookbook go to help Simon pay for some of the expenses of running this board. If you don't have your copy click on the link the next time you see it and buy a copy.

    Title thanks to blondie

LL...did you get the Carribean pumpkin soup and anadama bread recipes? If you would put those in for Thanksgiving that would be cool.

    Sincerely,

Hey Valis Yes I have them saved in their appropriate folders Soups and Breads.

I have collected a few recipes that people sent me. They are all saved and I have been formatting them for the book.

So I hope more people contribute.

    Lady Lee,

This is a terrific idea as there are many people who being raised as Witnesses never had the opportunity to learn let alone establish any holiday traditions. Perhaps this thread could be one of your gifts to the board and itself become a tradition. For our part, Mrs.alfie and I would be delighted to share recipes, decorating ideas, and my favourite part of Christmas; our miniature village. We started it two years ago and it keeps getting bigger each year. Just let us know when you want us to send in our thoughts.

Alfie - you just had a brilliant idea.

This book will be free to anyone on the board who wants a copy (unlike the original book that is sold to help the board)

A holiday gift we give to each other.

Decorating ideas are great and if your pictures are digital I could even include them in the book
