Hey Ang, you should try frying a turkey sometime. You can cook a turkey in about an hour and they are delicious. All you need is a big pot and about 3 gallons of cooking oil and a place to cook it outside over a butane stove or simmilar heat source. I don't think I will ever bake one again.

yo Valis..........talking to all the old people again, eh? I knew you couldn't resist.

My son (who is younger than you) almost got me to buy a turkey fryer last year (so he could borrow it). Might do that this year. He swears - best turkey he ever tasted that way!

As for Ravyn and her initial idea? Lol - I remember her putting up the same recipe I put up (and she used more herbs too) telling Lady Lee about it (don't know which of us wrote first - my came out of Reynolds aluminum ad that I added to). I don't think she was insulted at all with Lady Lee doing all the work.

And Minimus? He was born to be slapped down by women.

Seven! You KNOW I could never bake cookies like yours. Gawd! I'd weigh 300 pounds! Even the jw kid I worked with ate them - knowing that they were pagan Christmas cookies - and luvvvvved them! What were those Italian things that put a pound on each hip? mmmmmmmmmmmm-m.

We're the ones who paved the way for you, pretty curls. Compassion? Thanksgiving.

We are the reason you'll be in so much debt as a country. And we'll BE the reason you'll drive in fear as you see us approach in our car.

Thanksgiving? Well, maybe not. Still can't resist us though.........there's just too many of us.

waiting, I'm sorry if I offended you or anyone else when I posted on swa's thread. I was irritated and spoke out of turn. And yes I do cringe when the blue haired lady signals left then pulls into the righthand lane...almost knocking me off my bike...

there is nothing like using too much oil when you fry the turkey...it spills over and catches fire...whoosh!!!...*LOL*

    Hey waiting,

The Italian thingies you mentioned must be the almond biscotti drizzled w/chocolate or the chocolate-pistachio trees, or the pecan tarts. Visit Smiley Central!

I have some sinfully delicious new recipes to try out on yinz this year so get ready...

nooooooooooooo, the Italian thingies had light-colored cream in them and were real flaky............we ate them all as soon as I opened the package..............and we were soooooooooooooooo sick from stuffing ourselves afterwards. But it was worth it. because we then went on to sample all the other wonderful treats!

I'll look forward to this year's biscotti! And I won't forget either!

Did you put any of those recipes in the cookbook? I KNOW you have holiday ones!

    Actually, Lady Lee,

Seven's cooking abilities (which I can vouch for - and so can some other posters) is the primary reason I thought her pictures were always absolute lies. Nobody who cooks like that looks like that.

But I've gotten confirmed word from a couple of posters............she can. Still got a yankee accent though. One strike against her.

Come on! I gotta get her for something!

hmmmm biscuits (cookies) sound great Seven I'd try baking them

please, please please can we pinch one of your recipes?

I'd had never of thought of frying a turkey Valis, may try it. Although I'd really am a bad cook, I can burn water. Also I'm danger to myself, Simon says he can always tell when I'm cookng, as lots of words that would get moderated on here come from the kitchen, while I'm burning myself as well as the food
