Here you go the first suggestion of the book

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/52452/752993/post.ashx#752993

Ravyn first came up with the idea

we should start a thread for recipes so I can print it out.... hint hint....

we could do an XJW cookbook, sell em on ebay and fund the forum for Simon!

    Ravyn

Not sure what difference it makes though or why it is so important

but this is the post that I was referring to

So it was she who spawned the idea. You simply were able to get it published. Great! Much credit would be due her then for this book. Pretty important I'd say and makes a big difference!

    Thanks for replying LL.

Yes Ravyn came up with the idea. And Minimus came up with the title. And I pestered everone on the board for recipes, sorted and edited them, added Eng/Metric mearurement equivalents, wrote the intro and put the book together and turned it into a e-book pdf file. Then I sent it to Simon who posts it here.

A lot of people went into making this book. Some people sent dozens of recipes all gratefully appreciated and added to the book. And all given proper credit since their name here appears at the bootom of every recipe they submitted.

Ravyn or Minimus have never complained "about not getting credit". This was a joint effort but an idea is just an idea unless someone takes it and does something with it. My apologies to anyone who felt that they should have gotten credit but didn't

Now got a recipe? I will make sure you get credit for anything you submit

I'd be happy to submit some vegan recipes if anyone wants them...

...now, now, don't all jump in at once, form an orderly line, please, i know vegan food is universally adored but you'll just have to wait your turn

Tink there are a few folks here with allergies and some vegetarians so I am sure a few vegan recipes would be appreciated.

Whatever sf...she didn't do the work and as far as ideas are concerned, lots of good ideas get posted on this board and yes, thanks Ravyn for coming up with a great idea, but if you don't have the fortitude to stick around and deal with getting a thread deleted, then what's one idea versus a huge drama over a small matter? A not so good idea on her part culminating in her descision to leave. She didn't follow through, Lady Lee did, simply put.

    SIncerely,

Sorry Ravyn, I didnt realise you had the first idea about the book. Thank you for the kind idea & minimus for the snappy title

Thanks again to Lady Lee for the hours of work that went into preparing the book and putting it all together, its is greatly appreciated and you did a fantastic job And thank you too to all that submitted that recipes

Food in Due Season sounds great, we were really stuck on how to celebrate christmas the first time we did it - I think people will find it a great help - as its quite embarrassing having to ask someone who has never been in the troof 'exactly what do you do a christimas '!

So Ang Does this mean we will get some ideas or a recipe from you too?

Christmas is so put out there that I had a pretty good idea what people did. I was clueless about Easter, Thanksgiving, and Halloween. My kids were still in school and it was hard to figure it all out for them. Birthdays were pretty easy. I was totally stumped on a christening.

It wasn't just the food. It was the traditions that many people follow, what kinds of gifts to give and when.

I love to Lee - but I'm still new to all this ! and dont have anything to offer really

Last year was the first year we had a proper christmas tree, it was a bit thrown together with the decorations but we liked it Kids made some of the decorations themselves, and we had the paper chains all over that they made too and kept falling down, sending the cats wild attacking them

Also I didnt do a turkey just bought a joint of meat and took longer than I expected to cook, and we were waiting ages for dinner I'm not the best cook in the world, so this book will be useful !!!!

But I'm happy to help in anyway I can with it
