    SS,

Thanks for your contribution and the site you provided. It was an intresting site with more info. than the site I had on the ugarits.

    Shelby, my sweet little friend,

I would ask then, that you use your LOGICAL thinking and not take everything on face value, but try to determine how... and why... beliefs have evolved.

Thats EXACTLY why I posted this subject. If the bible truely has copied older myths......which can be proved by comparing older myths and beliefs........then it's ENTIRE contents comes into question as being a guidebook, and that within it's pages, contains messages that need to be learned by individuals in order for them to have eternal life.

    peace to you!

If the bible truely has copied older myths......which can be proved by comparing older myths and beliefs........then it's ENTIRE contents comes into question as being a guidebook, and that within it's pages, contains messages that need to be learned by individuals in order for them to have eternal life.

The Bible has not copied "older myths," dear one... at least, not entirely. The reason there are similarities is LANGUAGE - prior to Babel, the people spoke ONE LANGUAGE... and so at some point there was only ONE account. As the languages caused people to disperse, the accounts were most probably much more closely related, intially, and changed over time. Given the phenomenon of how things change as we humans ORALLY relate them... coupled with the divisions in LANGUAGE... the accounts began to branch: words to denote one thing turned into another thing when connotated in another language... folks added their own little tidbits here and there... embellished... omitted... and... voila! It is LOGICAL then, that we have what we have: in almost EVERY culture... you have multiple deities, large, strong, having come down from the heavens to earth, co-mingling with mankind. And this is NOT a myth - it's origing... is the Nephilim. That JAH, however... who He truly is and His position in relation to other 'gods'... has become confused... and in most instances LOST... is not a mystery, not at all! JAH, Yah, Yahweh, Rah, Ra, Jehovah, Jove, Ieosus, Jesus... etc., etc., etc. This has occurred because of EARTHLING MAN... and HIS passion for embellishment, deviation, omission, inclusion, conclusion, presumption, assumption... etc., etc., etc.

So... since we HAVE such passion(s)... rather the rely on what is written... looking to it as a guidebook at all... why not simply go to the One ABOUT whom it is written and ASK regarding the messages contained in its pages? Can it BE more simple than that, truly? I personally have found the answer to be "no", it cannot.

And I marvel at your statement, dear Gumby, that "it's ENTIRE contents comes into question as being a guidebook, and that within it's pages, contains messages that need to be learned by individuals in order for them to have eternal life." I marvel because... that is also something EARTHLING MAN has contrived... so that it is merely a "creation" of MAN'S limited thinking! For NO WHERE in the Bible does it SAY that it contains messages that need to be learned by individuals in order for them to have eternal life. What it SAYS... is that if one comes to KNOW GOD... by means of coming to KNOW CHRIST... and one comes to KNOW CHRIST... FIRST... by wanting to... then putting FAITH in him so as to HEAR him... and then follow his commands that HE tells you... INCLUDING the VERY SMALL command to eat his flesh and drink his blood...(which, for MOST of you/us... when sitting in the kingdom hall and having such things passed before you... you HEARD... you KNEW you heard and were to eat... but you DIDN'T... because THEY told you NOT to... and you listened to THEM... rather than to HIM)... THEN... one can have eternal life. And it says this... throughout.

Because... UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood... YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOURSELVES!

They... shut up the kingdom of the heavens BEFORE you... because THEY... those who stopped YOU... are not going in themselves! But you were not to listen to THEM... but to HIM. Right? And HE said, "that ANYONE may eat of it." If we do not have faith enough to listen to him and hear THAT... how can we expect to hear things even greater?! Is not he that is faithful in what is LEAST... faithful in MUCH?

Somebody tell me... PLEASE... WHY IS IT THAT YOU DO NOT HEAR THIS? I do NOT understand. Truly, I do not.

But... I love you... and bid you all peace. Truly.

A "frustrated" slave of Christ, frustrated because I don't understand why "we" keep WANTING to assume the Bible says what it does not say (put your faith in it)... accusing it of being what it is not (God's Word)... and looking to it for something it cannot give us (eternal life)... when it TELLS us whom to put our faith in... who is God's Word... and whom to look to for eternal life... and all three are ONE AND THE SAME... my Lord, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, the Son and Christ of the Most Holy One of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose name is JAH... of Armies...

Intresting perry....I'd like to see more on that. It makes perfect sense. Shelb, I realise the bible is only a book made of paper and is only a guidebook. It guides ones to Jesus correct? Were it NOT for the bible..........nobody would know he existed in our modern day. So if it is the bible that is the only book that tells us of our savior.......and that book is full of holes and jumbled up myths.....then how can you trust in the savior it mentions..........when it is clear(at least to me), that "HE TOO" was nothing more than a copied myth of saviors before him with the same attributes they had. I also read somehwere it was just Children of the god El --- El hypothesis gained credibility elsewhere -- the JEPD hypothesis in Who Wrote The Bible by Friedman -- E being El which is what the Israelites called there god -- but the Isis Ra and El is also a good one and not heard of before

    LittleToe,

You just HAVE ...to stop wearing those thong type shorts you wear at the beach!

If you wear cut-off levis.....you won't get sand in your crack..........but that won't stop the Trinity thingy.

    EXJWEXELDER,

There is much to learn on this eh? I always appreciate your input my friend.

peace to you! That is a very interesting analogy. I also find it interesting that although the Most Holy One of Israel was against "false" gods... it was He who sent Israel TO Egypt... without warning of false gods. He even had two of His highest servants, Joseph and Moses, spend many years in the house of Pharaoh. And... there was no fear... or warning... or discussion... regarding false gods. On the other hand, when He released Israel FROM Egypt... which He didn't do because of Egypt's "gods" but their oppressive slavery of Israel... and returned them to Canaan... it was THAT land's gods who He warned of.

What do I know about this? That Egypt's "gods"... are not as old as "we" think they are... most having originated AFTER the Exodus... and the death of Egypt's Pharaoh god at that time... when they were left... godLESS.

BTW - The word "Israel"... is English. The Hebrew word, "Yishra El"... means "contender with... God"... and/or "God... prevails".

Please... don't make the mistake that many do of thinking that ENGLISH words... are accurate renderings... and transliterations... of more ancient words. English... is relatively knew in comparison to the rest of the world's "tongues".

    I bid you peace.

I don't really know how to answer your question, dear Gumby... for while I agree that the Bible is full of... alterations... I do NOT believe it to be the only way to know about the Christ. Adam knew about him... and he didn't have a Bible. Abel knew about him... and he didn't have a Bible. Abraham knew about him... and he didn't have a Bible. Moses knew about him... and he didn't have the Bible. David knew about him... and he didn't have the Bible. Many knew about him... without having ever seen him... and without either the writings of Paul... or the Bible. And there are many today... who have not read the Bible... and they about him. And others... who cannot read... and they know about him. So, the Bible has no... "value" to them.

What did these have... instead of a Bible? First...faith. And second... ORAL history. That's it; that's all. And the first one is all it takes, truly. The second, like the Bible... is incidental.

Again, the greatest of love and peace to you!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,
