maybe you're right Minimus. It might be that true JWs take the view that this is an apostate site and so skip over it if they notice it at all. But what do I know, I'm a rhetoric-er. LOL
Are Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY Welcomed Here?

Scooby, I like you. I believe you're a nice person and I don't think of you as being a "true JW". So post as much you want. You're not taken as a "real JW" by all of us here (or else you wouldn't post here).

Minimus, come on play the game man. You asked yet another question, on this open forum "Are JWs REALLY welcome here" and I gave you an honest answer from my perspective. I know I'm not a "true" JW yet I remain "pro-JW" and like I said only a very few here will understand me. Now if its like that for me, then of course if a real, live, true, JW (lol) comes along, then of course they are not gonna be welcomed here. You know as well as I do JWs have strong views, so do apostates on an opposing side. You like most here are of the "kick JW ass" group as you stated. Haven't you answered your own question in a round-about way?

Of course the really aren't welcomed here, not if they wish to count some service time. I can't imagine a single witness being allowed to state the company line without some serious ass kicking going on.
They are welcome to visit me, call me and go out with me. I have no problems with any witness that doesn't want to preach to me.
If the preaching starts politeness ends.

>>>>>> If I do post anything pro-jw in keeping with how I might feel about a subject or topic then I know that a very few will be objective, the majority will slam me. That remains the nature of this forum. It is a forum for "ex-jws" after all. NO "Jehovah's Witnesses" are not really welcomed here. Not by a long shot.
Well said, Scoob.
Sadly, I think your perspective about JWD is correct, as the same applies to every discussion board where you find ex-JWs. And the rare ex-JW that tries to take a balanced and fair approach toward JWs or those that are pro-JW run the risk of being labeled a troll or a flamer. Whatever. -eye roll-
I said it earlier today and repeat it: WARNING TO ALL JWs: Post your honest thoughts here at your own risk -

I wish more witnesses came here to this site.
I love a good debate, and they could learn a lot here.

Remember people,it's the WT that we question........why take it out on people that have no idea what they believe?
The WT tells us one thing, yet we see that they believe in something else......Why punish the JWs when they have no more idea what to teach as the WT says............

They only reason they might come here is to try and turn some of you back to the life you already know you hate , I don't really care who comes here and posts but I think a jw that reads around here some should get the idea that there are many hurting people that would just love a chance to tell them off one last time .

WHen I first visited the board I was an active witness - elder - PO etc etc I did not post or get involved in what I read but I did THINK about it - over time the board helped me settle in my own mind that what I had felt for some time (lack of love, pharisee attitude, doctrinal "bending" and many more where real issues which I had not blown up out of proportion and that it would be wrong for me to stay in somthing I could see was hypocritical and plain wrong. What disturbed me when I was an early visitor to JWD was vitriol poured out over the posts between ex-JWs (mainly) not an unwelcoming attitude to active JWS. I was concerned that the good I could see in the reasoning/logic of the board contents was masking the "raving mad apostates" This slowed my escape down quite a lot as I wondered if after all the WT was right and the attitude (of some not all - which was unpleasant at best - abusive at worse) proved that "those apostates" were demon inspired etc
Happily for me I saw in many of the posters decent people with a common heritage covering such things as destroyed families, damaged personalities in some cases, financial suffering from faithful JW following the official line etc etc etc. I do understand those (and am guilty of) forthright condemnation of the WT based on personal experience - it is nigh on impossible to just walk away and start all over again - the WT does have responsibility and posters rightly point out the errors. Yes overall the board is welcoming (to all) but I would just ask all to think of the effects of those wavering (as I was) when they burn the keyboards with over critical (of people not the WT) posts

Hey Scoob could you clarify a few things for me?
I know I'm not a "true" JW yet I remain "pro-JW" and like I said only a very few here will understand me.
You say here that you are pro-JW. What do you mean? Do you mean you support the doctrines of the Governing Body including their stand on the child-abuse isue, or do you mean you support the people in the Org that have been deceived and misled by these leaders?
I can see that if you support certain JW's who are good people then you have a valid argument and I say continue on.
If though you are fully supportive of the Governing Body then I can see you're gonna run into a lot of opposition including me.
Please elaborate. Thanks for giving it the time and thought...................................Andy
