I think there are reasonable and interesting JW's and XJW's on this site....usually that means people who aren't obsessed w/ their agendas. I also think there are annoying JW's and XJW's on this site who are unreasonable. The way I see it, super obsessed JW's and super obsessed XJW's are exactly the same, just on opposite sides of the pendulum.
Are Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY Welcomed Here?

I agree with that 100%. It is disappointing to see people leave the WTS and retain the mode of thinking that they were taught by it.

Let's face it. Be honest. If we say that we are pro-JW and that we accept the direction of the GB, the FDS and the Watchtower, it means that we believe that God is SPECIALLY using them. God is supplying the "spiritual food at the proper time" to them for our benefit. Part of that "food" is the beliefs that if we don't totally accept the teachings of the "provision" that we will die at Armageddon. If we do accept what the GB teaches BEFORE the Big A, then we will not die. As far as the Watchtower is concerned, everyone that posts on this board is disobedient to the "slave's direction". Such ones are "running ahead of the organization" or even "grieving the holy spirit". We can't be SAYING we're pro-JW and are true believers in the "truth" and at the same time----post here. If the elders ever knew that a JW is posting here, they would give you an ultimatum. Either stop visiting and posting on "apostate" sites or get disfellowshipped for "having a sharing" with those that "have left us". ANYONE that is pro-JW posting here is a hypocrite----plain, simple and undeniably true.

Your a very black and white thinker aren't you mini?
As for me...the more "hypocrites" the better...if they post here and realize that we aren't the spawn of satin (well most of ya'll aren't anyway) then hopefully one day they will leave the org.
I would rather they come here..lurk...or post pro-jw...and hopefully at some point have their eyes opened to the real truth then be driven away by intolerant people.

Xena----I would rather such ones post too. When I first "lurked", I was on my way out but not 100%. I understand that there's a process to go through. Not everyone is on the exact same page. But, I still do believe that those that promote the Witnesses as having the "truth", need to be honest and admit that if they are pro-JW, they are supporters of the thinking and beliefs that are mostly intolerant of others. To sidestep that is to not deal with real issues.

So I'm confused, Min. I understand that if you follow the dictates of the WTS, you don't read this site, you don't read Ray Franz, and you don't watch Madonna kiss Britney on MTV. So what? Their hypocrisy is not my concern - in fact, it's none of my business. If a person, JW or not, shows up here and posts pro-JW positions, the discussion should be respectful - a problem that many threads seem to struggle with.
It seems that many take up a contrary position while doing the old Saturday Night Live Weekend Update skit: "Jane, you ignorant slut!"

We should always be respectful toward each other......Regarding what is your biz or mine, what is here?...Opinions are just opinions. If a Witness reads and posts on this site, it is the first step to recovery.

Are they hypocrites to be ground into dust under your feet or on the first step to recovery and to be helped in that process?? Which is it mini?
When I was a dub I never would have acknowledged that I was intolerant...lol I felt like I was extremely tolerant..heck I spent my own time going out trying to help my neighbors come to understand what God requires of us..how much more tolerant can you get was my thinking...
So if you want to help a dub exit..in my opinion anyway...you reason with them in a calm friendly manner....they might not get it the first time or the 2nd time or even the third time BUT they are more likely to come back and read more...and more...and more...till eventually it sinks in.
When tyydyy and I first started cruising the internet back about 10 years ago we, being curious little dubs, of course popped "Jehovah's Witnesses" in a search engine just to see what we would get..and of course we got some apostate sites....the ranting and raving and idiotic accusations we saw was enough to send us running back to the kingdom hall. I wish we had found a site like this...it might have expedited our exit by several years, because for the most part this site is filled with people who are normal, reasonable and helpful.

They are hypocrites that need help.

So are we.
I do not believe that any person avoids hypocrisy.
