Everyone in CA ok?? (page 4)

Yesterday, we stayed in the house with the A/C on all day. Today, the winds seemed to have shifted and the sun was out a bit here in Corona. Saturday, the smoke was like a fog and the sun was tomato red. I can't imagine why some idiots did this!! The ashes are still falling here, like a real lite snow. I have already washed the yard down as well as the house because it was like ash trays being dumped all over.

The pictures on the news are really terrifying. It's been pouring all day here, I wish I could send some of the rain your way !

I just found out that one of the fires is on the base, one of the Mom's was nice enough to e-mail me They have it 75% contained they say.

ARoarer..... right about now alot of places are in the fire's path, but I doubt San Clemente since they are right near the ocean and generally well hydrated.

The governor has called in the National Guard to help. As well as the CERTS: citzen, emergency,response, something, something. Basically anyone who can help

I watched the news just now, and they say there's no way they could possibly have the fires out or close to it till the weekend. That means more people will lose their homes. Possibly more deaths. This fire is jumping freeways!!!

I've heard nothing else from Windchaser after her last post. Has anyone heard from Farkel? It looks like it's getting worse and worse from what I've seen on TV.

Has Farkel moved back to San Diego?

Things are still bleak, but I haven't had to evacuate yet. This whole thing is a nightmare and it looks like it's far from over.

Chevy - we are in north county. The closest fires are in Escondido/Valley Center ( I think they are calling that one the Paradise fire) but nowhere near us as far as danger is concerned.The news just said 680 homes are toast at this point by the latest counts. Entire neighborhoods are completely gone.

According to the latest reports, the Camp Pendleton fire is 85% contained, 0% containment on all the rest of the fires. They expect possible containment of the Otay fire by the 30th. That is the only containment estimate I have heard.
