My feeling is that they'll do whatever it takes to survive; the trend toward institutionalization and the sapping of vitality and frenetic energy is palpable as the inexorable ticking of the clock has rendered their chronology-based predictions implausible. They're being dragged kicking and screaming from the radical fringes toward the mainstream. They'll be around 30 or 40 years from now, but hardly reconginizable by anyone associated with them today.
