I agree with Euph.
I think this CO made this one up himself.

Hi there
its always do more isnt it?
I can relate to what you said Rocket Man. Our house needs heaps doing to it because of the time we gave to the borg.

Why were these people hunting if Mom already had dinner ready? And if they had to hunt for their food, how could Mom prepare dinner if they hadn't killed anything yet? And why didn't the boy shoot the wild animal that scared him? Were they just hunting for food? Was the wild animal the pedophile in the congregation?
That illustration is so full of holes, it's like I went hunting with an M-60.
But ultimately, the real problem with it, is that it relies completely on fear for motivation. There is no "love of Jehovah" in their service. The little boy picks up speed because he is in terror of his life! So the CO is trying to create a fear based rush of service. The problem is that kind of energy simply cannot last - if it does, you'd better get some valium because you'll probably have a heart attack! The kid is probably already on Ritalin, he doesn't need somebody behind him spurring him on!
Wow, I'm kind of mad I heard about that. At least it doesn't apply to me anymore, but I suddenly feel sorry for all those poor people I left behind.

It seems to me that this rhetoric, endlessly repeated, is being ``tuned out" by an increasing number of JWs.
I just don't know how the modern family can do it anymore. I think of how busy I am now, and there is no way in hell I could fit all the meetings in and service, personal study, study with family, and all that. Just impossible.
And for what? What does one gain from it all? Nothing.
You know, the economy has me feeling like I have a bear on my bum enough without some non-working self-righteous tin-plated god wannabe telling me I need to feel that way about my service to God!

You know what? Maybe witnesses need to take a saturday off, to catch up on some yard work, or to sleep in, or to LIVE LIFE... spend time with they're wife and kids. Go to the park and relax. Help your child with homework. Treat your family to dinner, do a puzzle together, maybe, just maybe, just have ONE DAY when you don't have to push yourself to the max running around like chickens with your heads cut off with a bunch of freakin' hypocrites telling lies of paradise earff, and how beautiful it would be to pet snakes and lick tigers clean, and all that fantasy nonsense.
Shamus, you do have a way with words! It's horrible how we put life on hold for a pipe dream, isn't it?

Perfect description of the CO! These guys have the gall to get up on the platform and dictate to others how to live their lives, yet they don't work, have all their meals prepared for them, get a free car and a free place to live. They very often also get free trips to the best tourist destinations in the world. I've heard several COs and DOs go on and on about how wonderful such and such a place is and "you should really go there too". Right, maybe if the publishers gave me their hard-earned cash and deprived themselves of such trips, then I could go on one also.
Better stop, I'm getting too pissed off.
The boy doesn't quite run fast enough until he sees a large animal running after him. Then he actually speeds pasts his dad!.....The moral of the story is,
...save your own ass and let your dad get eaten by a large animal.
That was one of the worst illustrations I ever heard.
If you find yourself and your dad in the woods being chased by a ferocious bear, you have but one chance: Trip your dad.
"Oh no! The DO is gnawing on my dad's feet!!"
