I was just a guest until this thread motivated me to reply. For the last 2 years i suffered from fear and panic (after i studied for other 3) because of shit like this and because I was convinced this was truth.
Miserable cunts, i would destroy myself the abomination that is Jehovah. I hate Jehovah from the bottom of my hearth for what he done to me .
Absolutely shocking.
I guess that the fact that I'm 8 months clean of hearing such BS, made me to be easily shocked on hearing this cultish stuff again, like I wasn't hearing it for 30 years.
They use fear and threat to get parents to pressure their children into baptism, but they rarely remind the parents:
*** w07 1/15 p. 20 Remaining Steadfast When a Child Rebels ***
If your child is unrepentant and is a baptized Christian, he may receive the strongest form of discipline—being disfellowshipped from the congregation. The extent of contact that you will then have with him depends on his age and other circumstances.
te chap. 45 p. 185 How to Tell God, ‘I Love You’ - "Of course, you are still growing up now. But you aren’t going to spend your whole life just growing up, are you?— Of course not. Someday you’ll be grown up. What are you going to do then?—Will you be like Jesus?— Will you do what the men and women who believed in Jesus did? Will you get baptized?"
The WT standard practice is to find a scripture, any scripture, to back up their teachings.
For child baptisms there is not a single one.
But that's ok, because what the GB says is more important than what the Bible says.
Disgusting...but far from surprised at this tactic the CO used.
Oh and a big welcome to Cota Samuel...I hope this forum helps you to cope and shed some of those negative feelings. It truly is cathartic to vent here.
Children are not suitable for baptism at such a young age.
Not old enough to drive
Not old enough to avoid schooling
Not old enough to drink alcohol
Not old enough to get medical treatment
Not old enough to vote
Not old enough to have sex
Not old enough to marry
Not old enough to get a job
Not old enough to gamble
Not old enough to get a tattoo
Not old enough to stay up all night watching TV
Shall we go on??
There are many more points we could list, but this just highlights the ludicrousness of minor children getting baptised.
Wasnt Jesus 30?!?!?!?
