My dub relatives would heave a big sigh of relief, he's had them squirming since I started 'sharing' his brand of anointed prophecy with them... it would chap their butts bigtime if a (gasp!) apostate were to do what they couldn't figure out... removing his cloak of anonymity would be SWEET justice, and so economical... one stone & all that ya know... I'm grinning and giggling just thinking about it... oh PLEASE!
It's what I said, Tally, and I did mean it, and I still do mean it. Not that you are like You Know, for you obviously are not and are a good guy, but in that thread you were treating me in a way similar to You Know by calling me names and by implying that I was ignorant. One can discuss facts, and even have disagreements, without resorting to such tactics. Especially among friends.
What a kicker this thread is!!! I thought I had taken a step back to the good ol' days at h2o!!
Robert, will you ever learn?
Alan and Seeker, I think you are both brilliant and I suspect the only reason you waste your time trying to 'splain stuff to bobby is to clearly demonstrate to others the Real Deal. It is obvious you will never get anywhere with him.
Tallyman, I caught the whole Moses thing (good point btw) and thought maybe if you went out and acquired a few hundred foreskins it might really improve your standing with the angry-biblegod. If worse came to worse you could maybe rape a few virgins, just for good measure.
Mommie-dark, you rock. Love your attitude, most inspiring. Great pic too btw.
Julie, you understand my motives well. It's clear that You Know is a fine example of the unreasoning fanaticism found in Watchtower leaders -- an extreme example, to be sure, but one in which the worst qualities of fanatical religious leaders stand out like bold type.
You Know will not change his mind, I suspect, unless he personally suffers damage at the hands of his leaders.
You are correct, I discuss things with You Know in order to demonstrate to any lurking JWs just how empty and dishonest his arguments and tactics are. Since his arguments often mimic that of the WTS, it can make a lurker think about what they believe and why.
Since I'm probably not well enough informed about the details surrounding this sad event in your life, perhaps I shouldn't really even open my mouth. But if it's not too difficult for you to talk about, may I ask you a question?
The question is: If it were possible for you to relive the experience all over again do you see a way out short of taking a life? What would you now do differently, if so, and why?
In the case of the Hebrew Moses, I'm not sure he had another choice (given his unique circumstances) once he embarked upon his decision to interfere with what the Egyptian was doing to his brother. It appears that although an Egyptian could get away with "striking" a Hebrew, when it come to a Hebrew assaulting an Egyptian that was altogether a different matter, as indicated by Exodus 2:15.
Since I'm probably not well enough informed about the details surrounding this sad event in your life, perhaps I shouldn't really even open my mouth. But...
Why is it when someone like this starts out with a really good idea, they invariably muck it up by saying "but..."????
