Lol this is a slim doom and gloom thread. Being inaccurate is expected.
Reasons for concluding that Watchtower is in (serious) financial trouble

Sheesh, Ruby, Warwick is out in the sticks but that doesn't mean Canada!! Lol!
You probably got that idea because the new HQ are "isolated" and "in the woods somewhere". Yup. Sounds like Canada, eh?
Next thing you know, Mark Sanderson will start wearing plaid shirts and be sipping maple syrup on the broadcasts.
Haha! On that note, my mentally unbalanced exJW brother is convinced that the big airstrip being built out in the bush back home in Saskatchewan is actually a remote getaway for the GB. Just in case The Big One hits.

It was in the accounts report. They estimated the future cost of relocation to be £100 million and they listed legal costs as their biggest threat. They could just about afford £100 million but it would mean no money left and nothing for legal costs. Not to mention nothing left to send to the US. It’s really weird they have continued with the project as long as they have. It was supposed to allow more magazines to be printed. But now nothing will be printed in Britain and the bethel staff is being drastically reduced. Has any JW in Britain submitted a simple question to the branch: in view of developments since 2015, when the project began, what is the purpose of the new branch?

Morph are you still in the deniers camp? How bad does the collapse need to get before you recognise what’s happening?
shepherdless suggests Chelmsford is a test. I agree. Either the site will halted or it will be sold soon after completion. I can’t see any scenario where they hold on to such a huge white elephant when they are in such dire need of funds.

I don’t necessarily want to give Watchtower ideas (because I’ve offered my advice for a reasonable fee) but they should be thinking outside the box for fundraising if they want to save their skin.
For example they could convert Chelmsford into a nursing home and invite elderly JWs as residents at market prices. It’s one way to make a profit from the situation. But it would take a change in mentality and long term planning. I don’t know if they have the luxury of time to develop such a plan or the faith “this system” will last long enough to make it viable.
The Christadelphians have an aging population and run care homes which generate income.

Deny what? Deny they are collapsing, yes. Deny they are changing and revamping, of course not. But then we have been over and over this... let me know when you settle on a pov, btw.

Undeniably, Slimboyfat is on to something. Evidently, he is 'in the know' about how the Watchtower organization operates. Clearly, his point of view is the correct one. No doubt, the near future will exonerate him and his line of reasoning about the imminent collapse of the Watchtower Organization. This will happen soon, very soon!Yes, within this very generation!

All words conspicuously absent from my cogently argued and evidentially supported opening post.
I can’t believe the collapse deniers are still operating under this particular delusion.

I suspect that at least some of the "collapse deniers" are that way because at one point, they may have been True Believers who were convinced of the impending Armageddon...
...and don't want to feel that kind of disappointment again.
Can't say as I blame 'em.
That being said, I also think some of us need to believe that the WTS will eventually get what they deserve.
I could be wrong on both counts.

Just a reminder, that just deserts -- 'getting what one deserves' -- is not a delightful, confectionery dessert.
