I have met a wonderful man but unfortunately he is a JW. I have never been interested or really ever been around any religion in my life so all of this right now is very fascinating to me. I have been thinking of studying to become one but am also having a hard time finding anything on the net that is positive about it. JW?s of course will just say it is because the truth and so many are against it.

Can anyone honestly tell me if I am just better off staying as I am. I have a wonderful life as it is , have my own house at 26, a good job, a normal loving family, no childhood issues, I am just a normal woman really. So , if fascinated by it because of this man, is it a good idea to start studying and get baptised next year?

No, sorry, but you don't know what you are getting into,

you said " a normal living family", great , but the JW's will expect you to give them up because they do not believe in the religion. Are you willing to stop talking to your parents and brothers and sisters unless they become JW's.

you sound like a very independent and successful WOMAN, woman are treated like garbage by the religion, cannot give talks, cannot give prayers, cannot have responsibility in the congregation, basically , stay home shut up, be in subjection to your husband, and let him make decisions.

if you want to study and be baptized so be it, but do it because YOU believe in the religion, YOU believe it is right, YOU are convinced they is no better place to be, but DO NOT do it for somebody else.

Are you willing to have children and they will NEVER be allowed to celebrate a birthday, or Christmas or Halloween, or have friends who are not JW's, could you look you children in the eye and say, "too bad it is wrong to do these things", put them through hell at school, have them rebel and hate you later in life, tough questions, but reality.

The problem comes in that you are slowly over taken with mind control one piece at a time. told to give up family and friends that do not conform to being dubbers them selves. the road to dubber take over is not a 2 day process, it will take a couple of years , depending on the person and how willing he or she is. once you start down that road and you start to give up more and more of who you are, you become more and more in the control of the dubbers. even if you dont and are a strong minded person the trouble you will have being married to a person that may be a very strong dubber, what if you get baptized marry and have kids. a couple of years down the road you deciede that you dont like the religion, and want your kids to celebrate the holidays bithday. ect. no you will be fighting your spouce every day for control of the simplest of things in life, It does not make for good relationships. there is only one way I can ever say it is a good idea to marry some one who is a dubber, and that is to do it from this strong hold. why do you have to join to have a relationship? If they love you then they can leave the religion, start by learning all the hard questions that the dubbers dont want to answer and get them to question. if they refuse to read any material or talk in any way the questions the socity, then it is a dead end road. never never paly thair game. make them play yours.
