Mannnnnnnnn, those Canadians ain't all that great, Simon. They're such a quiet country. And y'all can stop spittin' now too. Btw, I'm kidding. (for humor impaired readers)
Ah well.............go where you want............I suppose. With your continuing letters behind your name, it'll get easier and more profitable!
Congratulations and Well Done, Simon!
Hey Simon,
It may well be that I will pursue one of those MCSD thingies myself, one of these days. I'm working on getting into an online Master's degree program first, but after I get the degree, I will probably go for some kind of certification as well.
I got a bachelor's degree in computer science in 1987 and worked as a programmer / software engineer for 13 years (84-96 inclusive). I got out of the industry for a while, and am now in a software admin job that enables and encourages me to do some custom programming, mostly database-related.
I want to have the career that I deserve, and would have had if it hadn't been for the "dumb yourself down and refuse opportunities" attitude / policy induced by my former religion.
An option is to create a commerically viable software system, and I've started talks with someone who is an expert in the sales processes of an indsutry that neeeeeds a good point-of-sale system. Not sure where that is going to go, but if we can make it happen, it will fulfill a dream and possibly earn us a few dollars.
Warm regards,
George
Go for it George !
To be honest, the exams were not as hard as I always envisaged them (I guess it helps if it's things you use a lot)
I'm in the same situation - I was discouraged from persuing further education even though I was very good at school, so doing these exams is my way of getting back on track.
Experience counts for a great deal of course but certification is the icing on the cake and given someone with equal experience will help your CV stand out.

I would imagine not if you eat, sleep, and drink the material
Congratulations Simon -- Definitely not a KM test.
Good luck on your future plans -- I would love to move to Canada myself.

Simon. Should be no problem getting a job at the Canadian Bethel now. We are just going to have to find a new alias for you .. LOL
Congrats Simon!
congratulations!
one step at a time!
Frank
Congrats MAN !!! ... ...are you sleeping ?
So I'm now officially an MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer) for .NET.
I have a certificate that states I'm a certified SmartBasic programmer for the Coleco Adam computer :P
I think it's absurd that people have to take courses and become certified to use a piece of software written by a major software company. I could see courses to learn how to use it, but become certified? Microsoft seems to update its software every 2 years. Those certificates will become obsolete when the software is obsolete.
Sorry if this sounds bad, but I think being certified to use a piece of software is wrong. Not your fault Simon. You should be able to get a job with software experience, not software certification.
But at any rate, congrats on passing your exams with flying Windows colors!
