Personally I can't understand a mind set that would be challenged by finding life on Mars (and I hope they do find at least the signs of former life...if not actual life...on Mars.

I can't understand a mind set that thinks God would create this vast universe...but only plant life on the earth...first...it's more than just a little self centered...second...it would evoke a really lonely feeling.

It seems most here wouldn't either. The fact is.......many, especially the dubs, seem to favor the idea that Jehovah put humans as a likeness after him.....solely on the earth. They believe this was the first stop for man and gods purpose for him. It is here alone, that god sent his only son to redeeme what god first made in his image. I see finding life on mars as a BIG challenge to a dubs faith in particular.

No, what does it have to do with faith? Now if you found intelligence, and they'd gone through a Messiah event, then I might have some questions.

Would my faith be challenged by finding "little green men" on Mars? No, not really. To be honest, my faith was challenged by small minded men on Earth a long time ago!

I remember my grandfather (who was a JW) saying that all the Bible tells us is that Jehovah gave the Earth to man. Who's to say the didn't give Mars to the Martians?

Nah, cause when I was a good little dubbie, I still believed there was life on other planets, and that Jehovahgod was using planet EARTH to settle the universal issue so none of the other inhabited planets would go through what we did.

Still not sure where I got that idea. Was it ever insinuated in the pubs? or did I just read too much sci-fi?

It wouldn't challenge my faith or lack of. Like dw said, if they found "intelligent life...hmmm, I don't know how I would react to that. I doubt I would believe it. I'd have to talk to them myself. lol! Ask to see some form of ID. hahaha.

JWs would not have any problem... clearly life on mars is Jehover preparing a new planet to absorb the over-flow of humans that will result after the resurrection.

I am certain that there is a God.

I am certain that there is at least some sort of life on some of all the millions of planets. Maybe plant life, things of the sort.

Whether or not there is intelligent life on other planets, I don't know, however I think that would be quite interesting.

I think it would be awesome to find some sort of life there, even plant or insect type. That sure would shut up quite a few witnesses who state for a fact that there is no life whatsoever anywhere but here on earth.
