This has happened to me on more than one occasion and sometimes I just say no. But recently I was on a jobsite with my husband (ceramic tile installation) and a young man who is the son of some formerly dear friends struck up a conversation with me. I had been respectfully avoiding conversation with him because I didn't know how he was feeling, but he took it upon himself to speak with me so I responded. I don't like to be confrontational with young people because they suffer enough. We talked for maybe 10 minutes and I don't remember the specifics of what I said.

But he wanted me to know that he felt the organization was wrong to treat DF'd and DA'd people so cruelly. Nice conversation, but it made me sad.

I think it is good to try to have a few words prepared in advance. Good post, I need to think it over.

My reply would be much like Sirona & Flowerpetals.

"OOOh Myyy, I could never in good conscience return..........knowing what I know. But thanks for asking".

Then walk away. They will always be wondering and may even start looking for that really bad something.

Usually I start with the 144,000 number. I'll ask them do you really think that over two thousand years only an average of 50-60 people were picked to go to heaven? Then Ill ask them to prove the blood issue to me from the bible. They usually go right for Noahs instructions or the Mosiac Law. Finally I'll ask them to explain to me why would a religon ask you to turn in field service slips monthly and wheres the bible instructions for this. Generally they always have a answer or a scripture that they will quote and then give an explanation as to how the SOCIETY intreprets this scripture.

With Dub-in-the-pub, I did my : "Unfortunately I came across a sticking point that I just haven't been able to resolve. It's my problem, no-one has been able to come up with a solution to it," routine.

He took the bait and asked how he could help, did I want to visit him and talk about it?

I said: "No, don't worry, I'm just stuck over this "God's earthly organisation" thing. I can't find any reference to it in the Bible or even any connection between the 144,000 and the faithful and discrete slave. Can't be witness without accepting that can I?"

He had a few more whiskies and left. He's not in the area anymore so I don't know what's happened to him.

    Good JOB E-MAN..

There's nothing better than finding.. "Dub-in-the Pub"...

I liked what you said to him....and what you said was the "REAL TRUTH"...

Too, bad you didn't see him anymore...It would have made a good continuing story.

    sincerely

    Eman,

Then a quiet: "Unfortunately I came across a sticking point that I just haven't been able to resolve. It's my problem, no-one has been able to come up with a solution to it".

Remember that this is a big fish that we're trying to land and the line is only 3 pounds breaking strain!

Thats a good way of saying it. Notice its the same sort of argument I used but you didn't rush in like a bull seeing red in a china shop like I would. LOL I'm useless at trying to approach an issue "sideways" probably due to lack of patience, but sometimes my passionate nature can be fun

Well, I I had only one chance I would say something similar to 'Been there'.

"After discovering everything that happens behind the scenes, it became clear to me what I should do."

If I had more time, or if I saw the person regularly, I would be very delicate Like E-man.

    You could say:

"Oh no, my life is so much better now. I have much less stress and am for the first time experiencing unconditional love from people whose love doesn't depend on whether I share the same beliefs as they do. I also have a much better relationship with God."

This has happened twice to me. I was new out the first time A dear sister hugged me & said how much she missed me- she thought i had moved & gone to a differant cong: So I chatted with her a bit- asked how her family was .But when I got home I thought maybe I could help her see the 'faults" so I phoned her & said "You know I never really belived in 1914 & the invisable presence of Jesus?"she said. "Yes" ( because I had told a few..... ) I then said // "well I got kicked out because I dont believe it" she replied . "Oh no! thank you for telling me "& hung up!!!!!!Then another time I was walking along the Street & another sister walked next to me for awhile.... Said she was real happy to see me Because she had missed me & loved me so much!! I replied " Do you know I am DF??? because !!!! I couldnt go any further she turned around & walked away!!!!
