Would You Give Blood To Someone Against Their Wishes?

  I think it has been said over and over, but personally, I would not force an adult to take 'blood' against their own free will.

  If I can help them to see 'otherwise', I will.

  I for one, thought way back, even post-JW: I won't take blood.

  Today: I would.

  But, that being said, I'm very careful, now that I know my blood type, because blood type mismatching can be dangerous, and in some cases: deadly.

  But I would not force an adult to take it if they didn't want to. If I had a child, well, you bet I'd move heaven and earth for them.

  Good point Blondie,however, i will take that chance with my hubby. I have already told him that i will not let him die due to lack of blood. I love him and want him around, i would only be doing it to save his life. I have assured him that only if it truly were the factor that could save his life would i allow it. Chances are in most cases he'd be able to decide for himself,and he'd refuse, and i would then also try very hard to change his mind. Now with my mom, who died a while back, i did not worry about this. She was quite old and had an absolutley terminal illnes. Blood would never have helped her. Had it been offered i would have refused for her, due to the circumstances.But, if things had been different, and blood could have helped her, i would have talked with her.But i would have adhered to her wishes. personallly i think she would have caved and took it, she really wanted to live.

  I have made sure my hubby knows i want blood if needed and he said he had no problem wikth oking it if i could not.

  It is a hard call, but if it is one ofl my immediate family, i am going ot ok blood if it truly it the difference between life and death for them. They can be mad at me if they wish, but at least they will be alive.
