When you were a dub.....did you ever fall asleep when you prayed in bed?

  I think many of us forgot to pray.

  Many times, and I felt guilty about it.

  Or when I would say a prayer in bed with my wife she at times would fall asleep too.

  So we were both guilty.

  When we were dating, we used to spend hours on the phone [$$$] at night and there a couple of times we both fell asleep on the phone talking to each other.

  Alla time, Gumby....I think it has to do with the peace we experience when communicating...totally forgiveable....and you can always "take up" where ya left off in the morning.

  I often find myself dozing off during the prayer when I attend meetings.

  Gumby....this happens to me all the time....I persevere in prayer and fall asleep still getting no sex.

  I rarely prayed while lying in the bed. But I know that I did fall asleep while lying down and praying once. One of my sisters on the other hand fell asleep while kneeling beside her bed. Yes, in our house we sometimes kneeled to pray. When we were younger, we would all go to my parents room before bedtime and kneel at their bed while my father said a family prayer. But anyway, later on as we got older we said our own prayers and my sister would sometimes kneel at her bed to pray and she fell asleep a few times while doing that and that got her a few words from my dad.

  I fall asleep talking to God all the time. I think that if He is crazy enough to give me the czarina and has as sense of humor as big as my orange cat, I don't think he minds too much.

  If I have something important to say or ask, then I kneel, but otherwise most of my prayers are pretty informal.

  But yeah, I did it and do it. I just don't feel guilty over it anymore. God and I are pretty cool, so we don't fight over stupid stuff. He lets me fall asleep while praying, and I don't get super-pissed over the whole Somalia / Ethiopia / Rwanda events that He could have stopped and didn't. He has his reasons, I got mine.

  If there is a loving God/Creator out there why would he be upset if you fell asleep while taking the time after a long hard day to talk to him?

  LOL! Happened to me all the time! I also felt really guilty about it and would sometimes wake up and re-pray... sometimes falling asleep again during that do-over.
