I also did. Jehovah's a pretty boring person to talk to!

Nope. Never really prayed. Being a teenage boy, whenever I went to bed I had more "urgent" things to deal with. Always felt too guilty to pray after that....

Little Toe that was beautiful... Yes I do too, no guilt either- He KNows me-knew what I was going to say anyway- He just likes me to "talk it over with Him "

Why, praying oneself asleep may be the best way (1) to get some sleep and (2) to conclude a prayer (unless one thinks of the formula "in Jesus' name, Amen" as a kind of zip code or enter key). It might remind of the ancient practice of "incubation", when believers actually slept in the sanctuary, as part of the ritual, in order to receive an answer from the deity in their dreams, to be interpreted by a priest or oracle in the morning (this common practice may be the background for a number of Psalms implying praying at night and receiving the god's answer in the morning, e.g. Ps 17:3.15).

    Little Toe-

Billy goat made a comment, some time back that she mentioned it to her pastor.
His comment was something along the lines of "what better place to fall asleep, than in the arms of your daddy?"

That same comment from her post stuck out to me and I've always remembered it. I was going to post it as my response to this thread, but you beat me to it! Isn't it amazing what the lasting effects of one person's words can be?

Yes I have and was so ashamed that I stopped praying in bed. Terrible thing guilt and shame isn't it?

I liked this quote too.......but you must admit, were talking of grownups and not little kids.

If Jehovah were sitting on the edge of the bed and you could SEE HIM......would you STILL fall asleep?
