Trying to remember some names, funny, having been a lifer, you'd think I could recall a few more.

    Mazachek

Covington (that was back in the 80's)

    Merrill

Jack Barr was the last, but was due to change over to someone else the month before we left.

Man, I can't believe I don't recall more right now. I also won't allow myself to say they were good or bad, just that I finally remembered.

Wow chickpea, we must be in the same neighborhood:

    started with a T i think...

Tomiyasu; he sounded exactly like Sulu on the original star trek; he was not a bad CO, a little dry maybe.

    >Cantleave - Anyone remember Bill Harris?

Yes - as you say - very intelligent, very witty in an acid tongued slightly belittling sort of way and a very good speaker but I think he is on the edge (of coping) - he missed a lots of CO visits in one circuit a few years back due to illness/family and a bit of stand in DO work and they had stand-in CO's.

Sometimes I thought "he'll make DO", other times I thought "he'll crash and burn." He is very emotional and has (had?) a disfellowshipped nephew in South Wales that he virtually cried over on the platform and I was told he said he felt his sister (the mother) was being treated poorly by the elders in her congregation over it.

I'd love to hear he had woken up, but he probably won't.

Freddo- He was often away in our circuit too. He seemed to suffer health problems and I agree he was stressed out. He actually disbanded an elders meeting because someone challenged his viewpoint on a brother being put forward as an MS.

I liked him, he was very engaing on a personal level and I too would love him to wake up. He wouldn't half make a lot of money in the real world.

    Hi Dissed,

I know that John stepped down from being a CO to raise a family and settled as an elder in Santa Monica. Did you know him from those days? I agree with you...he is far too honest and kind to not see the hypocrisy from within. I would think it is just a matter of time before he makes his exit...

We know John and Nancy from Santa Monica, we now live in Arizona. That is our hope as well. Their whole life has been dedicated to living the WTS way.

Did you know them in Iowa?

My favorite (for obvious reasons) was my uncle, Andy Wagner. He died in Alaska in the mid 60s. He was a wonderful human being...not your typical CO.

Paul Havlin was a good friend of my mom and dad. I sent him a copy of my da letter...never heard anything from him again. I have good memories of him though. I heard he had some problems with alchohol.

Steven Lett..bad news.....in Florida, was arrested for practicing medicine without a license....

Nick Karamalis... demanded my dad step down from his position (pre-elder arrangement) because I was going to college. My dad refused.... held his ground, and Karamalis was forced too drop the subject...
