To the JW apologists:
I did my own research before the books you call apostate were written. All I had to do was read the writings of Russell and Rutherford. That did it for me. You should try it some time. It is very enlightning.

larc - and I caught on without doing any research! The only apostate I knew I thought was somewhat off the planet with their new found religious beliefs! Cripes I just watched all the hateful skullduggery in my congregations and amongst the 'friends' and then I matched it up with the scripture which said "by the love you have amongst yourselves, all with know you are my disciples". So I made a quick mental deduction (only three years) and then WOKE UP!
No research is necessary - just open your eyes!!!!!

The problem with apostates is that they do not do their own research.

This, from a Jehovah's Witness. Oh, the irony.

Haven't you got anything better to do?
You people should be out witnessing and stuff, researching bakeries and coffee shops and milkbars not watchtower lies ... especially mazza! ;)
unclebruce, who can't think for laughing.
PS: How come real JWs are so funny? If only they had the internet when I was brainwashed ... I was probably a hillariarse jw but didn't know it.
This all has been very interesting. Fred Hall, are you a Witness and talking that way about it being a bunch of s***? Well shame, shame on you. Also for all of you claiming to be Witnesses, from what I remember, going on to these kinds of websites and associating with "apostates" were MAJOR no-nos, so if you are so devoted why are you even reading any of this? It has to be harmful to you according to what you've been taught. Just curious thats all.
"It is unlikely that someone who simply reads the Bible without taking advantage of divinely provided aids could discern the light. That is why Jehovah God has provided 'the faithful and discreet slave,' foretold at Matthew 24:45-47. Today that 'slave' is represented by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses."

Who is doing the research for who?
Who accepts the research as something from God?
Has this research accepted by the rank and file been accurate?
Is the information that is researched and accepted by the Rank and file accurate today?
Will the research today, accepted by the rank and file be considered apostacy tomorrow?
"Thus, we are enlightened by God's answers to present-day problems, answers that reveal where we are in the stream of time and how we can successfully plan for the future. Those answers come to us through the channel of 'the faithful and discreet anointed slave' class, which uses the Watchtower Society as its publishing agency."
AFAKE! 10/8/1991, page 13
What a load!
Little dubbies,
You commented several times that we don't do our own research, which of course, implies that you do. We'll let's just have a little test for you then, shall we?
I can give you zillions of quotes from the WT magazine when it says that no true religion should have anything fear from someone doing research into it. That obviously includes dubs, right? Well, let's see how easy it is for you to study your own religion's history.
Go to your kingdom hall or any kingdom hall that has a substantial library and say you are most interest in doing some deep study into what Charles Russell and Joseph Rutherford wrote. Ask if you borrow the studies in the scriptures and whatever Rutherford books they have in the library.
Watch what they do when you ask. Many dubs have tried this and immediately the elders go into the "third degree mode" and want to know exactly WHAT they want to accomplish by studying those old publications. WHAT are their motives? WHY do they feel they need to learn about what was taught back in those days?
If your elders are like most, that's exactly the same reaction you'll get from them.
As such, your own religion often PREVENTS you folks from doing any research even from their OWN PUBLICATIONS.
That considered, it's pretty arrogant of you to accuse us of not doing our own research, when all of those publications and even the oldest of WT magazines are readily available.
The first 6 of studies in the scriptures, and scans of most watchtowers from 1879 through 1916 are all available on line. FOR FREE.
Yet try to check them out from your very own Kingdom Hall. That's a dare, BTW.
There will be a quiz later.

If the Studies in the Scriptures was indeed spiritual food at the proper time provided by Jehovah's progressive channel of communication, what happened to the Studies in the Scriptures written by Charles Taze Russell the founder of the Watchtower?

Is this research used today by the rank and file, or is it cast aside as so many publications that have been researched and written and given to the Rank and file JW as truth from God?
OK Brucie, I have decided to take your cancel and do as you advise. I'm off to a coffee shop right now. What am I meant to tell them again????
Where have you been lately anyway? You've been missing meetings. Don't think it hasn't been noted and your demotion is in the mail!!!!
You're marked matie!!
