In view of the criticisms you have made regarding the intellectual content on the Board, perhaps you might answer my question as to what you have actually done to attend to this cosmic issue that seems to irk you so? Ad hominem attacks are a well known tactic on discussion Boards with the ethically confused.

Answer my question. In view of your criticisms, how have you personally added to the intellectual tenor of this Board?

Talesin.....Thankyou. I saw the same post by SuperJW or whatever his name was, and read the replies.....have a look back......I saw far too many people taking themselves way too seriously and treating him/her/it as if it was a direct threat on their current stand. It was laughable. Thats when i THOUGHT OMG... where is this forum going that some nutter can come in claiming to be a reforming JW group within a group etc etc, and so many could reply in the way they did. LOL.

Then I began to laugh.

In response to your comments about the supposed masses who read this board... well, first of all, it is easy to see the number of views threads receive; some receive several hundred, a few get thousands. Click on the statistics link and you'll see a chart which can lead you to see that each week thousands of hits are made on this site. In the last 3 months, JWD averaged about 23,000 hits per month. Wow!

I might agree with you... it seems to me that some of the friendships here become a bit like cliques. I guess that's easy for many to do, and isn't intentional. I think people say "unconditional love" a lot, but only give it lipservice... It is nice to see such love when it is here, but it ain't always here. We are all human, still. Sigh...

But... What is difficult for me to understand is how you remain in the position you are in. I am interested in your rationale for remaining loyal to the WT, even while you post here. Is it because it is easier to remain with what is familiar? I can imagine how you are more sensitive to many of these posts and posters, since there is so much venting aimed at what you hold dear. It's gotta chafe after a while, and you're often on the defensive. It can get old fast, if you feel like you are chafing.

I hope the chafing helps you off the fence, though.

Strangely........I sort of got used to the chaffing, the more I read here. You sort of develop a hard skin against it.

Besides I sort of like that chaffing........it feels nice, in a funny sort of way.
