    *the fashion show* so true!

I always wanted to know what the bread tasted like. But was told it was a 'sacred' recipe, blah, blah.

    Didn't have a clue.

Nowadays, I love to eat Matzo Brei .............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

The secret recipe was published here:

You can make your own unleavened bread using the following recipe: Mix one and a half cups of wheat flour (if unobtainable, use rice, corn or another grain flour) with one cup of water, making a moist dough. Then roll dough to wafer thickness. Place it in a baking pan and liberally fork it with small holes. Bake it in a hot oven until it is dry and crisp.

talesin, people like that just find some other way to be "special" or "set apart" from others. I would just have laughed and said "you're kidding, right?"

If I must go this year, I plan to wear the same gown Julia Roberts wore at the academy awards show... no really - why do women get all excited about this? I stopped worrying about making a special effort to dress differently than usual at this, and guys, you wouldn't beleive how people treat you like you are pathetic if you show up in your regular meeting clothes, or dressed down meeting clothes, ie denim skirt, etc... I don't think Jesus cares., But maybe Jehovah does.

Anyway, I'll be going (poor me) and the part I hate most about it is have to smile at everyone, hehehe, having to sit there and listen for 45 minutes to some bonehead talk about the great meaning of this unforgettable event. Can't wait. I need to pick up that denim skirt at the drycleaner...

All I know is Jesus told us to partake, and the WTS didn't let us.

As a kid I too was excited to touch the glass and plate.

As an adult I was more worried that I would drop or spill.

I preferred to pass on passing.

MORE SILLY QUESTIONS BY FAMILY MAN:

So let's say you do drop or spill - what is the penalty?

I agree with most of you. Jesus died on the cross for everyone - and every one should be able to partake in remembrance of his great sacrifice ...

What does disturb me about the Memorial is that after the ceremony the rest of the wine is taken home and enjoyed by the PO (or whoever provided it). If the wine represents Christ's blood (or, indeed, if it is Christ's blood) then surely what is not used should be poured out on the ground. You may think it a waste of a good wine but if the ceremony is to have any meaning surely it should be taken to its logical conclusion. I recently observed a Catholic mass and once everyone had partaken the priest then consumed what remained (as part of the ceremony). One of the perks of being a priest . This seemed to me more in the spirit of the observance than to simply use it socially.
