"Let your conscience be your guide."

Seriously, though, I don't see anything 'wrong' with it. Just use common sense (see Blondie above).

First, that was my experience, too. I learned 'the hard way', by overindulging a bit before I realized it wasn't doing me any good. But I'm alright, now (hic). *lol*

No, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting drunk on purpose. When you can't control yourself and you *have* to get drunk, then yeah, there may be a problem.

We all have days that we need to relief from reality. I just need to know I don't have any responsibilities to take care of, like driving or working. But there are times when I am in pain, and I am in need of some relief. I don't get drunk to the point that I cannot control myself, but getting heavily looped ........yes there are times (not a lot) when I need that.

    • drunk: this is an extreme and could be dangerous; so maybe it wouldn't be the wisest thing to plan for.
    • tipsy: okay, if you are not driving, in public unescorted, caring for children, operating heavy machinery, electric can-openers, electric knives, weed eaters, tractors or firearms.
    • mellow: a good thing as long as you aren't driving, operating heavy machinery, electric kitchen appliances, motorized/mechanized farming equipment or firearms.
    • merry in heart: this is likely different for each individual. Use good judgment.

If getting drunk on purpose is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I've been told that every single mammal does something to alter its consciousness in some way, even if it's banging one's head on a rock.

Drunk porpoises, eh? I don't think that there's any biblical rules on that Protection might be a good idea, though. Can't trust those slippery pinnepeds.
