Edited by Dede.................way too much personal experience from me,,,,, ...........thanks for the input from all of you.............love ya bunches Dede
( thanks Cowboy two years ago you showed me how to edit my own blabber,,,,,,,lol)
used to i'd get shit face plastered every weekend because work sucked that much. me and some friends would get a keg and they'd have a party every few weeks. we always got stumbling piss drunk to where we couldn't make it to bed and we'd all pass out on the floor or somethin like that....the good ole' days =(
I don't like to get too stupid anymore and for some unkonw reason drinking seems to contribute to this condition.
A friend had a rough couple of weeks, car accident, family situation bla, bla, bla! So when I called her she was real stressed out. I said, "let's go to the local wateringhole, it's ladies night and I'll be the DD!" We went, she drank, danced, and told me her life story. I got her home by mid-night! All the way home she kept telling me how much she needed that, or that she had a bleeding cat...I'm not too clear on what she was blabbering ...anyway getting smashed once in a while is human. Maverick
All things in moderation; nothing in excess....but don't over do it.
As long as you're mature and responsible about it, I see no problem with occasionally intending to get a little snookered...as long as the intent is ok. Now if you were doing it to purposefully lower your inhibitions to partake in illicit sexual liaison...it might be an issue...sorry, just reliving my past.
DRINK UP...SHRINER!
The fact that Jesus made additional wine at the wedding feast at Cana, combined with such scriptures as Psalms 104:15 ("Wine, that makes the heart of mortal man rejoice") strongly suggests that "tying one on" on occasion would not be wrong in God's sight. A very good understanding of the Bible's views on alcohol can be found here: http://www.versebyverse.org/doctrine/wine.html
To drink with the express purpose of getting plastered, with the accompaniing next day vomiting, headache, etc, should never be the object of drinking. However, if one got in this state on occasion, there is, based upon the Bibilical evidence, no reason to condemn them. Now, if this becomes a habit, then this would be sinful, because it will damage our body, our relationships, employment, etc.
I have consumed alcohol to excess probably a dozen times or so in my life. The first few times (as a teen) that I did so, I wound up drunk bcause I was testing my limits; the other times it's happened because I forgot how much was too much. I usually drink in a social setting, especially if I'm having more than one or two drinks, rarely alone.
I find that a combination of a few puffs of ganja goes a long way towards preventing drinking too much inadvertantly. But when I'm not partaking of the weed, I limit myself to what I can handle without feeling crappy the next morning.

I agree with what Love_Truth said. And I think the above situation is just doing violence to yourself. I don't get why people do it. And I know lots of people who do, and tons and tons of teens that do.
Well I had to edit my post above ,,,,,,,,,,,because I "tied one on", and well, after all I was just following the Bible right?
Just kiddin'...........sort of .........
Everyone made great comments and I would say I agree with the majority on this one.
We are human, we some times drink to wind down, or many of us as teens,,,had to push the limit and get tore up from the floor up. It only took once or twice , ( if we were slow learners ) of being sick, sick the next day to not do it again,,,,,,,,,at least not on purpose.
Great balanced thinking and viewpoints here................hugs Dede
For personal reasons, I find getting drunk on purpose horrible.
Not if you're grieving and plan wisely for the event....
