Myrna is in the last stages now. We concentrate on her comfort. My poor dad is exhausted. He has proved himself the faithful, devoted husband and more.

So sorry Jgnat to you and you're family. You are lucky to have known such a wonderful lady and my heart breaks for you.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Been thinking about the journey Myrna is going through; and the honor that it brings to her life as well as the lives of those who mean so much to her. Take care of yourselves and your father. Irrev and Blondie

KLS, Irreverent, Merry Magdalene, thank you for your thoughts.
Myrna has caught an infection, and has requested no treatment other than what will make her comfortable. She is having trouble breathing. The Cancer has eaten the flesh off her bones. She was sleeping when I arrived, dad says she will not last the week.
Her two chidren are holding a vigil at her side. It has been too much for them, too much. They lost their dad to cancer less than a year ago, and now this. They hate that cancer is taking away their mom, but they know there is little to do now.
Myrna would not want us to remember her like this.
She was always so hospitable, welcoming every new member of the family with open arms. She remembered what they loved, what they hated. When my hubby told her he was sick of chicken, he never saw one on her table again. She knew of his love of baseball, so we enjoyed local games together. Privately, she asked me what would be appropriate behavior towards a JW during the Christmas season, to make sure she would not offend my hubby, the newest member of our family.
Myrna would hate what is happening right now. She is always the strong one. She would be wanting to speed her way along, so she can watch over us from heaven. Speed on your way, Myrna. I remember you will be watching.
I hate Cancer.

I hate Cancer
Me too - I lost my mom to it... there is nothing you could do to prevent the death of your beloved ones, the only thing you (I could) can do is to try to make them comfortable...
thinking of you and wishing you strenght...

I would have preferred a heart attack, Country_Woman, or a stroke. Something faster and kinder.
