It would depend upon how long you have been "studying" as to what type of info is passed on.

Generally, you have been used / are being used as a: "I started a Bible Study" "MY Bible Study (insert: should be MY Bible Student)," blah, blah, blah - "Thank you Jehovah" (also see conclusion of: Consoling a (Hot) Grieving Widow video).

When the CO visits, pubs are encouraged to arrange for the CO to attend PROGRESSIVE Bible Students.

They used to write a separate report for each person that studied. This included name, address , publication studied and number times the study was conducted during the month.

In recent years the watchtower got rid of this type of reporting and now the only thing required is the number of bible students a witness has. No personal information is collected.

I am glad that you are educating yourself before you get too deep.

If you have an exploratory personality, view this as a thesis opportunity to generate Cognitive Dissonance and develop conclusions.

I would recommend "studying" Jehovah's Witnesses, before you study with Jehovah's Witnesses.

Run, run faraway and don't look back. This religion will destroy your life as you know it, and there is not happiness. The bible study is pretty much a study of their literature based on their own momentary interpretation of the Bible. JWs won't be honest about their beliefs and will lie to you to get to the organization. Lying is considered appropriate if it servers the purpose. I remember around 1990, there was a paper which put who was the student, what they studied, how long, when, where, and some other details, something similar what JWFacts had posted.

Any case, use your own judgement and be warned.

Honesty

Have you been told that all of your friends and nonJW family are under satan's control and don't want you to learn the truth?

Have you been forewarned about visiting any sites or talking with anyone who is critical of the Watchtower Society or its doctrines?

My 22 year-old daughter and 19 year-old son haven't spoken a word to me in almost 10 years because they are in the truth.

None of my JW friends have spoken to me in almost 10 years because I left the truth and went to Jesus.

Study reports were done away with about 10 years ago, but it dosent change the advise: comming from both former witnessed and many of us who are still stuck in this cult, dont do it.

And they always call it the Truth which gets in my nerves. I admit the same thing. I was never a witness, but I went to more than a few meetings and watched my brother and his wife get baptized. Always thought the phrase was arrogant.

The quote that always stuck with me as the ultimate no brainer to run like hell was when my brother would say...and I quote "lying for the Truth" Later he told me how he regretted ever telling me that. Why?? Because even he could see how messed up that was. Now they call it " theocratic warfare". Warfare that gets conducted against potential converts as well as their own flock. Madness
