My Dad grerw up un Shreveport ... cool ... I have an idea, but I need to think about it ... it is definitely not buried, but well above ground ... and located to the boundary between two Parishes (called Counties in other states). - Jim W.

The planatarium is inside the Barnwell center. It was made and dedicated for the Barnwell's son , who died at a young age,,,not sure why thou.
Seems there are some fish ponds and fountains in the planatarium.....maybe it is there....
But it seems that it is saying it is in between the two parishes. Maybe it is on the bridge, under the bridge down along the riverfront. Texas street bridge, and they also have an old bridge that is used for trains, or no longer in use, maybe it is at the bottom of the pillars of one of the bridges.
Hey everyone...here's the next clue...

There are so many ideas that keep repeating: hills, sand, where 2 converge... a very weird but interesting puzzle.

I'm getting in on this late, and haven't read all of the posts in the thread, just skimmed them, but... here goes:
The Lowell Observatory is in Flagstaff, Arizona (been there, @ the U., but missed the Observatory). It is about a mile from the downtown area. It is on MARS HILL (Rd. I think on the street address). Lowell himself was fascinated with the planet Mars and was caught up in the observations that centered around the CANAL sightings. Mars is DRY & DESERTED, and is REDdish in hue.
Long shots?? They may be, but you may need to put these details in with the other thoughts that you have and see if anything jells.
Hope this helps...
