Read Rev. 1 : 5. Jesus was ' the Faithful Witness' of Jehovah and his followers thus are Jehovah's Witnesses

    WOW, I just did that!

I was so wrong for leaving. I am going back to the bookstudy tonight.

    I hope Jehovah forgives me.

I do a lot more "Informal witnessing now than ever I did as a dub. And what is more , it now come from the heart . I can speak without that stomach knot that always used to appear . Speaking frankly and candidly about what I now know to be the truth about things is a joy.

Of course I am telling them the facts about the J W religion , I am saying that it is a gross distortion of Christianity. My great satisfaction is that two young women of my acquaintance have now stopped their discussions with J W's , possibly saved from a life of dubdom

If it were not for family ties and a desire not to be cut off, I would be a lot more active .

Nb ..Theo certainly knows how to yank our chain...

    Valis:

I doubt anything I say would make you see JWs in any different light.

When Jesus preached, it was mostly to the less advantaged. He taught mostly to large crowds who gather just to hear him. Today, the same preaching must be done door to door or any avenue where people can be reached. Who knows in door to door if you'll talk to rich or poor? All houses are visited.

If I was poor and had no hope of getting my next meal anytime soon --- I'd rather be visited by a JW because I know they would not leave anyone stranded. But it still boils down to --- the preaching work is primary, as it is meant to be in religion.

    Revelation 1 verse 5 (NIV)

"and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of kings of the earth".

What is your point dear? And why does your confusion need to be projected onto a thread that has nothing to do with your question?

Jump right on in there. Say something stupid and have the guts to start your own thread where people can answer you. Oh, thats right, we are apostates and evil...well what the hell are you doing here asking questions when you have all the GB answers?

Uh huh. Thought so...butt out hon...we are trying to carry on a conversation involving some individual thought.

Why don't you reread your post me. You will notice it doesn't make any sense. Now, take a deep breath and start over.

I agree with you theo.. we have to bear witness to the truth. However, you and i BOTH know that the the JW's discourage charitable donations that feed the people. They don't have food drives, or any drives to bring sight to the blind, or hearing to the deaf, or even vitamins to those who are short of vitamins. They don't do anything like that. There's bunches of people that are starving, and bereft of good medical, dental or optical care. The JW's offer none of that. They say that if these people just accept the JW religion, and buy the Awake and Watchtrower, that their lives will be changed and it will all be better.

It doesn't logically work like that. Jesus asked of all of us to take care of our homeless, our widows, our children. However, if the JWs don't put forth any money toward those causes, how are they fulfilling Christ's recommend? I dunno. If you want to bear witness to the truth of christ, it would seem to me that you would be actively fulfilling his dictates, you and the Society, which they are not.

Are these people less than you? Are they fulfilling the dictates of Christ to love all? Can your hungry stomach eat the watchtower and awake? Can a small person digest the awake to replace a meal? People are hungry, mostly for food. When *those* needs are fulfilled by a member of the Body of Christ, they are more receptive to recieve Christ. The Watchtower does't do anything to help these people with their food problems, so how can you expect them them to be JOYOUS to revieve your message? You've predicted Armagheddon about 4 times or more..

I just hope that the people will not ever succomb to a religion that can't even HELP them..

You are right. Let me start over....This thread was started by a person (not you). We are all (except you) trying to discuss the original topic. We are involved in an in depth discussion that you butted into and tried to hijack with your rediculous jw doctrine, which is very obvious to all but you. Does that spell it out well enough dear?

Start your own pro-jw thread and stop interjecting your strange philosophy in a topic that does not concern you.

I am new here. I am a christian. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and because of His shed blood and death on the cross my sins are forgiven and when I die I am going to be with Him. Do I preach this, no I live it. I thank God everyday for the things He has given me. When people ask how I can be so up, I tell them how God does this for me. He can see you through it all, knows your problem before you know you have one. I have never been a JW but have a son who is studying. Something I know God has control over too!
