E-Man.........interesting post, but, what are you smoking? LMAO!

Seriously, though, without more data/input I would not be able to hazard a guess at this point. But, since I've NEVER attended a "Fest" yet, I can't even know what the experience is like.

Terri.........of the seriously upset that she can't make the Fest Class

So after that, I couldn't hang out with evil, wicked apostates enough, even went as far as driving 1,400 miles to Florida to meet a couple of Brits and engage in trick or treating for the first time in 30 years.

Okay, Chris, I sense an extremely juicy, funny story here, so spill!!!

I see some people who positively seem to thrive on the experience whilst attending a fest, yet, once it's finished, never seem to post again.

actually I saw this same thing attending parties from the PRO JW boards as well.. It would be strange, regular heavy posters would go to a gathering and then you never heard from them after the party....

ya think maybe they knew SimpleSally and I would one day go over to the dark side?? or maybe it was our wild side even then??

I must admit.. I am so bummed about missing out on the TX fest... I was dying not only to see everyone but also see the difference between the JW discussion board parties I attended....

Oh, well it was last October when jst2laws and Joyzabel held a Freedom Fest at their place in Florida. We must have close to 50 people show up. There was the UK contingent: Simon, Ang and kids, Eman, HL, Little Toe and Belmont (am I missing anyone!) and all sorts of 'mericans from the board.

Anyway it was Halloween so our kids dressed up as the Green Goblin and a Pirate Queen, I wore my kilt, Simon dressed up as Dracula, Ang was a witch (wow, I don't remember what Liam and Dylan came as), Nina wore a red mask and cape (last minute costume!), Her Ladyship came along but I dont' remember if she wore a costume, and there were a few others (I'm sorry, early Alzheimers I don't remember now!) so Joy took us out trick or treating. Simon kept putting in his teeth and swooping on unsuspecting passers by. I got asked if I was Braveheart and we almost got the kids to go into a haunted house but the screams from inside gave them second thoughts.

It was a GREAT time. What I enjoy the most is meeting people face to face. It adds depth to the person and any misconceptions you might have go away.

I loved all the get togethers,,even though I'm very critical of myself,,some how they make you feel more accepting of people,,and in turn more accepting of yourself.

You guys who are having these fest are doing a very positive thing in the lives of Xjws,, we come to know each other in a special way here,, on the boards,, because we slow down in our thoughts,, by putting them down in writing. Many of us are healing. That has to be a bond that has a big impact (on some more than others). So with that in mind I would like to say I hope all goes well at these fests. I tend to think these gatherings also strenthen JWD because we get to know each other,, the more likely we will post and keep in touch through the board.

I usually go to these alone as my mate,,doesn't feel comfortable at them,,she hasn't done that much to release her JW hang ups,,and so I have to go a little slow for her,,or if she goes to one I have to be very carefull not to get her upset,,and watch everything I say. So if she don't go,, I usually go just the same,,and relax a little more,,then the next day try to do whatever she wants,, which usually means taking her "shopping" to some place she don't like to drive to by her self. Any way I thought giveing my situation may help some to attend,, for I'm sure there are many in similar shoes.
