After going to India, seeing the teeming masses, I wished I'd never had kids. The earth doesn't need more human feet....on the other hand I don't think my kids would like me saying I regret their existence.

    Joannadandy,

Mega dittos in many respects. The older I get, the less I miss having had the opportunity of having healthy children, and the better it feels to have no chaos or anxiety created by kids. There are so many pluses the childfree lifestyle, I tell you.

Then there are those times when I'll be out and see these poor unhealthy children (be it physically or mentally) and can only wonder "if that mother/those parents would've known their child(ren) would come out to suffer so and not to be quite rigth for this society, would they have risked it?"

    Undaunted Danny, Nilfun,

    Thanks for your comments.

Although the Society doesn't encourage having children in these 'last days', many are going ahead and having their families if they so desire. Yet another sign of the weak hold they have on many of the people inside.

    Carmel,

Many parents, Witnesses and otherwise, feel the same way you do; especially the ones that give it parenthood their all and the children turn out rotten anyway.

    Thanks for your comment.

I'm childless because I didn't want children until I'm married an own a house. I've had a few opportunities though. Me and my ex never had sex without birth control. I was the one who made sure there was birth control involved, and I'm glad I did.

A girl I was dating when I was 17 told me that she wanted to have my baby. I dumped her shortly after.

I do want children, but I want to have them after I've been married for a couple of years. That means it'll probably be 2 more years until I plan to have children ;)

Good plan, Nosferatu! May you find a suitable mother for your children, are my sincere wishes.

Hey Doubtfully there's a saying that goes "Some of us make good mothers and the rest of us make good Aunts."

I dont have any children from my own loins, but I am raising my nephew, and I love him as if he is my own. I feel like sometimes not having children can help you be a role model and positive influence on other's children. I'm a firm believer that "It takes a village to raise a child." Just because you dont have any doesnt mean you cant enjoy them, influence them, and then send them home when you get annoyed by them :)

We were both almost 40 when we got married and had no overwhelming desire to be parents. Nothing WTS influenced.
