    Simon,

I guess obnoxious humor faded away after the Monte Python movies. I hated the movies but with two kids in the house who love him I ended up exposed enough I became a little immune to them, so at least now they don't make me sick.

I will admit, after a period of despising the, what was he- Scottish, Fat Bastard I have come to enjoy hating his character. After all it is parody.

Seems like our Simon has been watching Channel 4 telly tonight.

Do I make you feel horny?

    Yeah, baby, yeah!

Simon: You have to appreciate the subtlety.

There's a pretty significant dose of sheer stupidity in all three movies (although it increased drastically in each one). Personally, I laughed enough in the remaining parts to make the entire set worthwhile; but I can understand if not everyone feels that way.

Corvin, HEAD, PANTS NOW! Look at that huge melon...... So i married an axe murderer is my favorite Mike Myers film

That being said, I'll be the first one to jump in here and say I love all the Austin powers movies. I grew up on Reruns of "In like flint" and "The prisoner" and "James Bond", "Get smart", etc.

I think it's great that so many loved the films WITHOUT getting the references, the inside jokes. That it can stand on it's own, shows, yeah, they're great.

Thing is about Mike Myers, I want to laugh at him, but find it hard work. The first Austin Powers film had some great moments. The last one was complete shite. The one on Channel 4 tonight was somewhere in-between.

I like the way he plays different characters in the same film. But he isn't really Peter Sellers or Alec Guiness is he?

I'm saving up for the Laurel and Hardy DVD boxset, so maybe that shows I'm a bit old fashioned as far as comedy goes. But at least they make me laugh!

lol, good. Cuz I laughed at all the sheer stupidity. I thought that was the point. I loved all three of these movies. Way better than LordoftheRings, as trilogies go.

Hey Simon consider this! If it wasn't for Dr. Evil and Mini-me, we would never have had the model for George Bush and John Howard...

I saw a funny Pommie movie on the weekend: it was called "Love Actually" with Huge Grant and just about every other Brit actor in existence. Pretty funny stuff, as Jay Leno is wont to say....Huge Grant plays the new conservative Prime Minister who beats (obviously) Tony Blair in the election.....

I find the humour in Austin Powers to be very adolescent. Boring as sh... well, you know.

Cheezes, Simon, I didn't know you were so mature! heheh
