    A. J. Foyt - Probably the greatest race car driver ever.

Nancy Nguyen - A JW who spent many years in Chinese prisons. Portrayed as a great example by the Watchtower but sadly wasted her life for the cult.

So what is it about meeting famous people anyway?

There are some people whose work I admire and enjoy, but that does not make them any more important as people. In fact the qualities that push them to the top probably make them unnattractive to talk to.

We are all only human. Some become well known but - so what? Every body is an individual and we are all beautifully unique

    Count Basie

    The Mills Brothers

When I was selling my house Ardlo Hanlon (from Father Ted) came to look at it. It was very embarrassing because I only recognised him enough to think I knew him from somewhere, so naturally I said, you look familiar, where do I know you from? Then I twigged he was on TV and began to babble. So smooth - not.

Mark Victor Hansen, co author of Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I had breakfast with him, at my table, at a 5 day seminar we were both guests for. He is a great guy.

Last summer I met the coach of the San Diego football team (Chargers?) They were staying at the hotel I was at, and these enormous men walked through, and I just said outloud, to no one, "who are these big men?" He heard me and came over to me and told me who they were. They were in Seattle for a pre season game with the Seahawks. The next day I saw him on TV, and realized who he was.

I talked to Telly Savalas on a Carousel back in 1965.

That's about it. A few casual run ins with celebrities, but no real communication.

Now that's exciting! When you get to spend an extended amount of time with an inspirational person. That's what really counts.

I've made quite a list of people I'd like to have breakfast with at my table
