since I left the JWs, my life became a book, an open book with many chapters unread.

...since that time I have built a life and a world around me of which I am very proud.

...my attitude is to keep an open; positive mind ( to every extent) about life; and enjoy what time I have here. I would rather smile and accept; than scowl and reject.

I want to look around me and say ( as the Italians do) " cose belle" which means " beautiful things", and laugh. I would rather hear music in life; than be preached to.

Life comes at ya hard; deal with it.

Help your friends, as you can; but help yourself first--and let others help you, as they can and are willing.

Reminds me of what Jesus said: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

life itself is great..... but its all the bad crap and pain and evil that happens in it that makes me hate it.

Look for opportunities to make another person smile who wasn't before. Don't dump my bullshit on others and limit the bullshit I allow others to dump on me. I am the cause of 90 percent of everything that happens to me, so I try to be careful what I cause.

"Feel the goodness"

No really, it's not a sexual come on...tho that's what most people think.

I came up with at 16. After I was suicidal, had attempted and failed once. I realized I needed to stop waiting for others to make me happy and cuddle me, because that was never going to happen. This was also the first time I ever started to toy with the idea that maybe the JW's are wrong, maybe there is no paradise, and this is all we get.

Then I began to reason, "why wait for some far off goodness I might not be good enough to get in to. There is goodness in the world here and now, if you just stop long enough to feel it. Let it seep in. Notice it. Embrace it. Pause to really enjoy little things. Because really--that's all there is. There is no big explosion and pinacle of happiness. It's just tiny little moments that make life worth living.

So..."Feel the goodness" was what I came up with.

Yeah...I KNOW...it sucks...what do you want I was 16?!
