  That outa tell ya that back 2000 years ago they were alway jumping to the wrong conclusion about gods. Jesus, jehovah are all a product of this type of thinking.

  The "they" was the heathen. Paul considered these beliefs as being "vanities"

  The early Christians (such as Paul) were not gullible ignorants, casualy acepting every superstitious beief structure around them, but instead were discerning persons testifying to what had recently happened amongst them.
