After several attempts, I found that in each situation I ended up feeling that everything was incredibly FAKE! Maybe I just don't have the Holy Spirit or whatever. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. Maybe it's not my time.

Jew, IMO Jesus was the ultimate subversive.
His teachings were not original, but surprisingly Buddhist (5 centuries old by the time of Jesus). Even his manner of teaching was Buddhist (using illustrations, metaphors).
His mission was to release his fellow Jews from their culture, the Law, oppressive traditions.
He knew his scriptures, and capitalized on them to gain traction with his Jewish followers.
He had no respect for Jewish law or tradition, he openly violated these "laws of men".
And in the strangest twist of irony, Jesus caused such a stir that, 2,000 years later, Christains still hold Old Testament writings and the Isrealite nation sacred, thus preserving and exposing the world to Jews.

For that we can pin the blame on paul. He diluted the supposed jesus' purported message, putting back in rules and traditions. After paul's christian writing commencement, the gospel writers followed in his steps, also linking jesus back to jewish writings, thus dragging it along. It was this mixture that ended up being adopted as the christianity of the catholic church.

I gave some historical info on the composition of the nt. How is that being critical? Should you care to check, you will find that it is correct. The disciples of jesus, who supposedly spent yrs w him, observing his mighty acts, hearing supreme teachings, and saw him facing down his enemies, sat around for 30-40 yrs, until paul, who only supposedly had a flash of several seconds of jesus, came along. How could they do that?
As your proof, why not send jesus down to personally visit the questing jew. The last prayer that i prayed was answered within 10 minutes, by someone coming along to fulfil what i commanded at the time.
