Y' ever wonder, SP, if Mini is jealous of you and me? I do. All the time.
Sorry to tellya, there ain't nuthin' to be jealous over.

That thought did cross my mind . He wants a partner in crime too .

How rude! LOL..
The 'judgementalism' in extreme is one of the keynote reasons we left.
Regarding the matter of leaving and 'unlearning' this mindset ; I believe that leaving Jehovah's witnesses is not a moment but a journey - many never get it washed out of the system - it is deeply embedded in any who were sincere... one day at a time is all I can do so far..

If you only knew, Mini. If you only knew.
Well if anything bikerchic and xenawarrior have brought one thing to the discussion. Simply put, bad blood creates intolerance. Intolerance of what? Bullshit is what. The example is actually a pretty good one. When a religion or an individual creates an atmosphere of intolerance the can do a couple of things. One, go merrily along being aholes and not care what people think of them and their inane behavior. Or they can hash it out and eventually apologize, which teejay has yet to do since he has returned. We see examples of the former all the time. Religions doing things like covering up pedophilia or other scandals for which they simply can't bring themselves to apologize for hurting people's feelings and creating the intolerance they find.
Sincerely,

With a bit of effort, valis, I found merit in what you said. Aside from comments directed at me personally, you've made valid points, if only reiterating what's already been said.
For one, you said that "bad blood creates intolerance." This jibes quite well with what I've already expressed as my epiphany. Emotions, particularly NEGATIVE emotions, are linked to one's willingness or ability to tolerate an unfavorable person or circumstance.
What I disagree with is your comment that "a religion or an individual creates an atmosphere of intolerance." Do ex-JWs who come here "create" an atmosphere of intolerance? Does Simon? Or is it, perhaps, the mods who do? Or, if not them, the rest of the JWD community? I don't think so.
I think that if anyone is guilty of creating an "atmosphere of intolerance," it's the one who is intolerant! True... they may not be entirely responsible for what happened to them in the past, but wouldn't you say they *are* responsible for how they respond to those experiences? I think so.
Just a little side humor:
"It is truly difficult to have a fine relationship with narrow-minded people who see everything only from their perspective, not allowing for differences of opinion, taste and preference. And what is more narrow-minded than a closed mind?" --*** Awake! 1984 November 22 pp.4-7 Six Benefits From an Open Mind ***
"True, people may strongly disagree about their religious beliefs, but there is no basis for hating a person just because he or she holds a different viewpoint."-Mankind's Search for God.
"It is truly difficult to have a fine relationship with narrow-minded people who see everything only from their perspective, not allowing for differences of opinion, taste and preference..."
Oh, the irony!
