Really? I thought it was only Quebec. I will have to check that out. If they were under ban I wonder if it had anything to do with the WT egging on Hitler to persecute the Jews?
I don't see how the WTBTS in itself is any kind of threat to national security . They are pretty shifty on how they run the WTBTS . I'm finding out in some countries they lie and say they are not a religion but just a publishing corporation but meanwhile in the states it's blaspheme to say that . The main thing the US seems to come down on them over is their refusal to go to war via the draft . WW2 as I've read was about the country just up and passing some riddiculous sedition law and the WTBTS had just finished publishing something that was anti war in one of their books and rutherford was too stupid to win in court over it .

I've seen the Mennonites in Canada....fast like a bat outta hell.
I was a child during ww2 and up for the draft in the Korean war. All during those times the wbts was spouting anti government requirements on the witnesses.
Children= do not salute the flag, adults do not participate in anything that would help the military. Refuse military draft and any civil option they offer.
Take this message to the public by placing magazines and having assemblies that reinforce this.
It was purely anti government. The FBI arrested my 19 yr old brother in ww2.
If you ran a government and the jw's did this in two world wars, would you keep tabs on them?
Bet your booty you would. They'r watching the wbts and the wbts brought all this on themselves and deserve to be watched.

Being a pacifist is one thing but being a threat to national security is another . There were plenty of peacenicks during the wars I'm sure .

The JW who did my mother's funeral talk was jailed in Western Canada (Saskatchewan) during WWII because of the ban on JW's. After the war the ban was lifted across Canada, then subsequently ('48, '49, 1950 and thereafter) here in Quebec the "work" was banned under Duplessis. I kept a couple of the old Awake articles that my mother had about the Duplessis era.
The Witnesses say in print that they are NOT pacifists. They say they can and will fight if and when directed to do so by god. They say they are just not willing to fight for any OTHER government and that WRONGLY makes them look like pacifists.
On the Canadian ban, the literature produced by the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation was banned in Canada from 1914 to 1918 (See Apocalypse Delayed page 131.) All Witness activity was banned in Canada in July of 1940. (Ibid, 133, 1941 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses p. 165) The Witnesses were also banned in Australia in 1940. See 1942 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses page 125.
The Witness's message was a message of the Kingdom (government) and it was a message political in nature.
The Witnesses have accurately long been seen as enemies of governments by governments and their work is seen as being in opposition to OTHER governments. The Witness people are openly contemptuous towards OTHER governments by refusing to salute the flag, refusing to support national defense, and refusing to vote. The Witnesses say they pay tax but the current literature exchange for *donations* has exposed that as another teaching that vastly differs with their practices and is unethical if not illegal. This is how they teach their children to do business.
By the way, the world did end in 1914. See 1941 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses page 29.

Ya....imagine all the G-Men that might "learn the Truth" while spying on Dubs!! Why the possibilites are endless!
This big question is: if an FBI man spies on some Witnesses and then comes back to spy again, would that be counted at a Return Visit or a Bible Study?
