Actually your mother's situation have some merit. I told my BOE nothing as far as admissions.
I gained an upper hand when I told them I would sue the BOE members individually if my name was ever mentioned outloud or transmitted in any official WT documents. Why did I take this strategy........ alienation of affections!. I have some relatives i need to deal with on a regular basis.

So sorry to hear your anonymity has been broken. I know how that feels...even though you have nothing to lose, it's still a pissy feeling to have been betrayed. An old high school friend found me on this board and has ratted me out to my family. I honestly don't care...I have nothing to lose. We exchange gifts and Christmas cards now. It has nothing to do with religion, pagan or otherwise. We are closer friends than we ever were as JWs. We have real love now, somehow the JW cult kept us from really experiencing that.
I'm so glad you have that now. I know it doesn't make up for the lost years, but better late than never.
