In all honesty people, this letter is not typed out, but appears to have been hand written. Though I realize it would be virtually impossible for the President to physically hand write the millions who supported him in his re-election, this looks very much to be official, though I kinda' suspect that even his writing might be the results of some machine of some type, the fact that the Bush Administration would go to such great lengths to say thanks to those who voted for him is really unique.

Sounds like some interns went home with some serious writers cramp.

Your tax dollars pay for the people, paper, machines, envelopes, and stamps to do it. Of course, I repeat, this is true of all US presidents, whether Democrat or Republican.

Even if it is machine produced, it's the thought that counts!

I've seen one of those form letters (Clinton to my father). They are very convincing. I'm not an expert, but my logical mind sides with Blondie.

Yeah, but Dem's supporters don't imagine that it was handwritten ;)

There are people that are getting form letters, those are signed by George and Laura and seem to be just form letters. Mine refers to a few personal things and mine happened to arrive the day before the one I received from my sons Major oh his was handwritten to and I have e-mailed him so no his isn't fake either.

Then you are a rare exception, then SheilaM. And where did I say you or anyone was an idiot. I'm sorry if I gave that impression. I have worked in a similar situation for a public figure who had many letters sent out under their signature and I know that no one person could sign all the letters that go out of the Oval Office. Seeing that your son is serving in the military, I'm sure you were put in the pile for a personal letter.

it appears to be legit because it appears to be rushed and slightly illegible, which would explain its hurriedly written appearance, but it surely seems to be the real Mc Coy.
That is normal. It's hard to find minimum wage, temp workers who can write legibly.
