These letters are machine produced. Just do a search on the net and you will find out how this is achieved. The process is not new and dates to the late C19th.
A give away is that the 'signatures' are indentical. Nobody can perfectly reproduce even their own signature.

Most supporters of GWB got this letter. They are produced by an "AUTO PEN". He didn't actually sit and write out each letter, which are all the same except for the name of the recipient. The auto pen is also used for the majority of white house christmas cards and other greetings.
GWB writes the letter and signs it 1 time and then a machine writes the copies. It is not "copied" like a photocopier, each letter is actually written by the machine, an exact duplicate of the original written by the president. A nice touch to "appear" more personal while still recognizing that the president is too busy to write out thousands of thank you letters to supporters.

RWagoner: My letter doesn't say the same thing that Phrophecors does. The President does write personal letters in certain situations. Also, the Christmas cards go out to secret service, friends, dignitaries etc. My son received one this year..he says it was awesome.
It cracks me up that everyone thinks they KNOW so much and never stop to realize that others may know just a little bit more due to circumstances, connections etc.

Your letter does not need to say the same as any other persons letter to be machine signed. Rwaggoner is quite correct in the technology used by marketing companies when processing these sorts of letters, some of which are programmed to address a person using their first names and all of which are machine signed.
The techonology is not a mystery and is obviously very effective indeed given the confusion one sees displayed in this thread.

I hate to tell you this: but I belong to so many PACs... and they have form letters that they just send from the Internet, and then the Senator/Congressman just responds with their own form letters, and the signature is stamped.
It was kinda like in Fourth Grade when I wrote to my hero John Wayne and he sent me back a stamped letter. I think that was worse than finding out about the truth..
