it's amazing that he still needs the approval of the WTS even though i have expressed to him that i feel that i am approved by God.
We all know JWs who fit your dad's description. They seem to be more flexible than the average JW. To me, it's like your dad wants you back for impression management purposes. I see nothing wrong with this. Groing numbers of JWs are like this: Trying to manage the demands of a very rigid belief system whilst trying to attend to their normal, everyday cares and family connections. Unfortunately, the JWs are a religion that thrives more on not so much what members do, but on what they're seen to do by others. I like the idea of going back for your father and then begining a nice long fade from the religion but having resumed a more open relationship with your dad.
